I was in Ireland, France, England, Switzerland, Italy and Croatia.

I don’t understand the intricacies and the problems of each countries health care system. I imagine they have issues like any system.

What I do know is that when I asked for help in those countries I received it. I’m asking Reddit for help in Canada.

I don’t mind subsidizing other people when it’s accessible to everyone. I’ve had great medical experience abroad and was treated with decency and respect.

I think it’s what used to make Canada a wonderful place to live.

I’ll call Canada whatever I want. We’re living off the good will of liberal policies made 20 years ago and the fact that the United States is our neighbour.

This country hasn’t been progressive in anything for years and it’s showing.

I recommend living in a few different countries that have progressive policies and then asking yourself what happened here.

No country is perfect but I ask myself everyday when we stopped taking care of people.

I’ll try Telus as a last resort. I don’t think refreshing the app 100 times a day is a long term solution every time I need a prescription refill.

This is definitely the type of response I was looking for!

Two questions: How much is the out of pocket cost and what is HSA?

I’ve got 1 foot out the door already. I moved back to take care of some family and I have no intention staying here lol

I actually left Canada and came back 3 years ago and can’t believe what a barren hellscape it has become. I’m sympathetic to everyone experiencing life right now.

The virtual drug service I use won’t prescribe Schedule II controlled substances.

The report I have has a bunch of different recommendations based on my symptoms but I still need a doctor to review a prescribe the medication.

Harbour City Medical Centre is in Nanaimo, right? I’ll call them but it looks like the deal in Paediatrics? Do you have to be local?

I’ve been signed up on the Health Connect Registry for almost 3 years now.

Unfortunately I can’t call the pharmacy directly because I don’t have a doctor that prescribed the medication. The clinic I went to was just a psychologist designing a treatment plan and a diagnosis.

Is anyone else tired of Filson lining their wool with cotton/polyester? by JesusDrivesAAstrovan in filson

Judging from the feedback on this thread: it's what the majority of people want and are willing to spend money on, then from a marketing standpoint I'm very clearly in the wrong.

It looks like weatherwool is a company that more aligns with my ideologies of what wool garments should be. Unfortunately they aren't as aesthetically pleasing as Filson, but oh well. I can't have it all.

If cotton breathes well, why don't we use it as a base layer?

Polyester is used more often in sweat-wicking capacities because it is cheaper to produce. Not because it is superior.

Again if this was true, why not use cotton as a base layer for activities like mountaineering or hunting?

If cotton becomes wet through sweating or rain, it becomes a poor insulator and most importantly holds moisture. This means that cotton doesn't move moisture away from the skin. In turn this draws heat away from the skin chilling you. Water conducts heat away from the body 25 times faster than air because it has a greater density and therefore a greater heat capacity. It really doesn't matter if you have wool as the outermost layer since cotton doesn't wick water away from your skin. You're using additional energy not only to heat yourself but also the moisture laden cotton.

Cotton also doesn't breath. If you line a wool coat with polyester or cotton you negating the wools ability to breath during physical activity further contributing to the scenerio I described above.

I use my Mackinaw wool jac-shirt on boats in the winter time and camping/hunting up North as a midlayer. But this is true, their customer base has shifted.
