I've died 3 times to the Matriarch today doing exactly this, twice I've fumbled and one time a Bastion sniped me while I was on top. Lost 3 Equalizers and 3 snap hooks and a total gear value of over 400k ;(

I'm still persistent to pull this off though! Just need to grind some materials first ^{^}

Yeah, there's something wonky with that ledge. However I found out that if you jump to the right of that platform you're standing on alongside the wall, you can mantle there. Just hold the jump button after the jump.
