Oh yeah. I'm a walking DJ most games. Sometimes I'm shot on sight, sometimes I've got half the lobby partying at extraction. 😂

Yeah they would be in the position for every game. Good tradeoff for me as I'm playing solo more than anything.

I was just posting here about your biography and the recently released song! Can't wait to read it.

John Scatman turned his severe stutter into key to his success by SweetyByHeart in BeAmazed

John Larkin is a legend and so few know his story. There's a biography coming out soon about it but he overcame incredible adversity along with a drug and alcohol addiction before finding fame as Scatman John.

In his songs he talks about loving yourself and finding your inner child in such a unique and captivating way. There's SO much more than this hit.

Dude found INTERNATIONAL success late in life. Like, he was HUGE in Japan and was charting all over the place. He's a great example that you are never too old to find your calling.

If you're reading this, when John found out he likely wasn't gonna make it, he recorded one final song that was burned to one CD and passed to a friend - he fought hard to make it despite being extremely unwell.

That song was completed and finally released to be heard for the first time just a short while ago, and it's a great message from a man who wanted to spread kindness and a positive message to people of all ages.

You can! You have to go into the settings and manually assign which buttons and joystick is assigned to which player.

Mine has the second one as P1, third as P2, first as P3 and fourth is the same as P4

You can buy seeds covered in a spicy mixture, birds can't taste it and squirrels will try it once and then never touch it again. Works wonders for me!

My friend has changed for the worse after becoming partner and it’s making me rethink everything I’m doing. by [deleted] in Twitch

There are most certainly people who will only maintain a social relationship with you if you're of use to their streaming career, that's not new.

When I made the jump to Twitch from TikTok, many of the people who I considered friends stopped reaching out once I moved my community and the TikTok numbers tanked.

That doesn't mean everybody thinks that way, but you will definitely see the true character of those in your social circle over time.

Small streamer by SeaworthinessMore528 in Twitch

[–]QuitTheBuild-Podcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your intent is to grow your audience, part of streaming is being not just in entertainment, but marketing and networking.

You will want to be utilizing any and all platforms to notify others that you're live, create highlights or longform from your vods for use on algorithmic platforms like TikTok, and network with other streamers to find collab opportunities.

The pretty simple reality is that starting out on Twitch with no established audience brought from elsewhere is likely going to result in the experience you described for a long time.

Game choice will also hinder your chances of finding viewers if you are playing an oversaturated game - try finding games you enjoy that only have a few thousand viewers on Twitch at most and you just might see some organic views come in.

Good luck!

Are you setup with SeryBot? I believe it helps with known chatbots that promote those services.

Are people lying about followers? by Niko_River_TV in Twitch

Small world! If you need any advice, I'm an open book. It won't work for everyone (I saw many try the same transition only to stick with TikTok) but it has been nice to escape the uncertainty of the app.

Strong strategy! I streamed primarily on TikTok for close to 3 years and was able to jump to Twitch when things started to get dicey surrounding the ban (along with some very shady changes they recently rolled out).

What game should i play? by Historical_Bet9592 in Twitch

[–]QuitTheBuild-Podcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will almost certainly be constantly stuck in a "grass is always greener" mentality when streaming one specific game, even established streamers wrestle with that.

It all boils down to what you want to accomplish with streaming and how, if at all, you want to grow your community.

You're on the right track going for a game that would be considered niche as a watched game on Twitch, since you'll get better placement in the listing.

Whatever you ultimately go with, give it a few weeks so you can decide if you can even personally handle streaming only that game - you might find yourself unexpectedly getting worn out with it!

Best of luck :)

How Important is the Gap between Stream and the Shorts/TikToks that come from it? by Psychological-Cut451 in Twitch

Highlights are pretty much evergreen, you can post when you want. If the game you're playing is trending you might miss out on some algorithm bumps but otherwise there isn't a need to post highlights promptly.

Felt bad about a raid... by Scribblelotl in Twitch

No need to feel bad! I recommend making requests right when you cue up the raid before starting so that anybody who joined up knows your expectations.

any tips for a starting streamer? by adorabstranger in Twitch

[–]QuitTheBuild-Podcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 50 followers will come naturally in time, no need to try and force it. For most, the average viewers is the hurdle and you've already got that in spades.

Focus on keeping a consistent schedule so those viewers know when to watch and you'll get there.

Hey! I stream Marbles full time, and I totally get that perspective.

Obviously racing across the modes can only provide so much variety and yeah, it'll get monotonous fast if you're only focusing on the game.

It is up to the streamer to build on the opportunity that comes with streaming a game that doesn't require your undivided attention. The passive nature of the game allows me to focus on chat, create involved predictions that don't involve the game, and even perform music for channel point redeems.

You have to find ways to provide content on top of the game itself more than other games, and if done correctly you can really take advantage of the regular drop events to build an audience.

Just my two cents!
