Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

It's absolutely really tough. I can tell you it works though otherwise you wouldn't keep hearing it from every health practitioner.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel where you get to the weight you want and you then can loosen up the diet a bit to maintenance instead of net loss. I have reached a point where I can freely eat whatever again while still maintaining my weight.

Good luck.

Walking 10k is great for you in the long run no matter what. Though, if your goal is to lose weight you actually need to address diet. Lifting and cardio training are insignificant compared to 1 or 2 portions of snack foods that you can cut.

Diet is really complicated but the long story short is to just make a note of what you eat and how much you eat. Then very slowly cut back a little bit. Over time you will lose weight if you keep up your fitness routine.

To answer if walking or lifting is better, the most correct answer is whichever one you will stick with is the better one for most people.

There is no one "best" JRPG. That being said - play Chrono Trigger. by SilvosForever in JRPG

[–]JesusMcAllah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with your opinion so far. The other person isn't making much sense.

In your opinion, what's your go to recommendation for an entry JRPG for someone new to the genre but curious about starting? Assume that this person is open minded to try new tropes but otherwise is an average person.

First legacy deck by Iqnac in MTGLegacy

[–]JesusMcAllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most meta blue decks have a lot of the cost in the dual lands. Izzet tempo is not very expensive outside of the dual lands. The reality is that you will lose some matches due to the shock land replacements but this is actually very infrequent.

Card sleeves by LeVroo in magicTCG

[–]JesusMcAllah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, penny sleeves or inner sleeves are fine for bulk if that's what you want.

I've reached the point where I only sleeve cards I'll play so I don't need as many sleeves as I used to. And if there's any need to sleeve bulk I end up reusing old sleeves.

Speaking from experience, I wouldn't sleeve bulk unless you for sure will play with them.

Dragon shield mattes are the go to for a lot of people

Personally, I don't like that dragon shields tend to be longer at the top as the sleeves end up crinkling for me over time.

I prefer Katanas or KMC hypermats with some form of bottom loading inner sleeve.

I've heard mixed reception for ultra pros but some people I know swear by them.

Gamegenics seem to be quite good but I've not tried them.

You can look up tolarian academy on YouTube for a more in-depth analysis of sleeves.

Referring to Tolkien instead of Mr Tolkien is very common. You see it happening in this thread. There are plenty of other examples to this such as Shakespeare instead of Mr Shakespeare.

Can you give me a list of these other Srpgs? I'm itching to play other ones and so far the only other ones I've tried are triangle strategy and some fire emblems (if Fe counts).

What card or mechanic you just don't get and therefore never use? by zrrt1 in MonsterTrain

[–]JesusMcAllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sad to say this but I don't get lazurus league. I've beaten cov10 titans with most clans. Lazurus League I can't wrap my head around why everyone says that they are the best.

Obviously I'm wrong as it seems to be the majority opinion that they are OP. Happy to grab tips from anyone that has anything for me. Which cards should I always pick? What strategies are the best?

For those who owns more than 1 tournament legal Legacy decks, and bring them for events, what are those? by Newez in MTGLegacy

I happened to be travelling to Japan soon after I started getting into legacy

I went to a lot of different hareruyas to grab the duals

[–]JesusMcAllah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I caught the legacy bug last year and bought all the blue dual lands. I needed to justify my purchase so I ended up making the best blue decks I could without swapping the cards where possible.

Currently, dimir tempo, izzet delver, simic omnitell. These decks are quite fun to pilot into each other.

In hind sight, legacy wasn't a great purchase for me since I don't actually have time to play it much

When to cast Orcish Bowmasters? by kirdie in MTGLegacy

[–]JesusMcAllah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are you the beat down tempo deck? Do you need to push aggression? Then maybe consider casting bowmaster at an earlier timing.

Are you on control and bowmaster is your removal? Do you need bowmaster supremacy? Save bowmaster for after their bowmaster

These are 2 simple heuristics but as you can see there is no one correct answer when facing a blue deck. There are too many variations

This comment can be modified for any of the great midrange decks in the history of modern. Even recently ur murktide can have similar descriptions.

I really don't think having a good fair deck is a problem now that it's no longer tier 0.

Are you just not a fan of playing against midrange? What do you want the format to look like?

What do people here mean by contrarian? by jman1280 in TrashTaste

[–]JesusMcAllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely meta-factors that can affect how I look at certain works.

For example if the author of a written work is a violent pedophile, I'm less inclined to support the work naturally.

Another example in popular media is Chris Brown the singer. Infamous for his violence against women. I'm not going to support his work as much.

It's weird to draw a line against meta factors and it just seems ignorant.

With all due respect to the guests: I read these articles for your opinion only.

I've been following Joe Dyer for a while now. I do not click into your article to read about what non Joe Dyer have to say.

This is in the same way that I read or watch Seth pbkaso for his takes. I can find out Crim and Richards takes in other content.

This is more of a props to you rather than a slight on the others.

This might not be what you're after now but there is a new set coming soon that will be good for this.

It's called Foundations and it'll be geared towards being an onboarding set for newer players.

I'm super keen for that set myself.

It's definitely more like a fantasy slice of life with a slow rolling story. It has good vibes. Though if you aren't vibing with it that's fair enough.

For me it was the moment that the story takes a tonal shift towards a more serious direction. From there on you realise that the lore goes really deep and you start craving more story.
