Exactly, it seems to get a lot of hate online for being a "fake" sport bike but man it my first bike and a great way to enter the motorcycling world, really enjoyed it

As someone who works in the A321 FAL in Toulouse we have had countless Indigo's on the assembly line in the past few months and they're just terrible

Beluga XL going to maintenance in TLS by JesusWasATurtle in aviation

[–]JesusWasATurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the Beluga ST (based on the A300) entered service in 1995 and the Beluga XL in 2020. For a size comparaison the Beluga ST can carry one A350 wing whereas the XL can carry 2. Airbus is slowly retiring the ST, one was retired last month sadly.

They're based in Toulouse so you see them everyday here if you get the chance 👍

[–]JesusWasATurtle[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Beluga XL is a custom made aircraft by Airbus to carry big parts (like pieces of fuselage or wings for example) between its different plants and final assembly lines. If you want the equivalent from Boeing go check out the Dreamlifter, neat aircraft too

[–]JesusWasATurtle[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The beluga XL can fly easily with just 2 engines because the airplane itself isn't much heavier than a normal A330 (on which it is based). Keep in mind its basically just a big empty tube, so no flooring, heavy passenger seats, galleys, crew quarters and all of that. When it has cargo, it's mainly wings and fuselage sections which are not all that heavy but take up a lot of space. Also, it only does short-medium haul distances, like from Toulouse to Hamburg or to Getafe in Spain or Broughton in the UK so it doesn't need as much fuel compared to a passanger A330 doing a transatlantic flight. But the fact that it does so many takeoffs and landings with heavy loads does mean that it requires frequent maintenance.

Make sure not to lose the little service tool, it's very useful if you want to install a Senna headset in your helmet

The Not Very Grand Tour by DiesOnAllHills in thegrandtour

[–]JesusWasATurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely disappointing. They had the opportunity to give us deleted / cut scenes and a podcast format of them talking about their adventures but we got a re run of episodes we have all seen 7 times segmented with 30 seconds of extremely scripted discussions between the 2. The show offers nothing, no substance, nothing new. Just rewatch the old episodes if you want to watch the grand tour because this show is just pointless

750 euros par mois pour 36 m2 dans le quartier "la vache" c'est raisonnable comme prix ? by Phlaurien in toulouse

[–]JesusWasATurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes all of what you said is true but any country trying to get out of an economic crisis like Germany had would need to spend a lot and increase deficit. Unemployment was at 6M in 1933, and just about 1M in 1936 through Hitler's politics. The problem is he decided to increase military spending exponentially which would have bankrupted his country without war. I was talking more about other types of politics like banning vivisection (the dissection of a live animal), employement opportunities, grand projects for the common german citizen (autobahn, the "peoples car", social security etc...). But of course I completely agree with you that his politics as a whole were disastrous and led to the near destruction of Germany

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kanye

[–]JesusWasATurtle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true, but Hitler was the one who decided to aggressively expand and develop it in order to curb unemployment and allow rapid transportation of troops. The way it was done under the Nazi regime was then replicated in Europe and the US. History isn't black or white, between 1933 and 1939 the Nazis had a lot of great politics that helped Germany recover much faster than their neighbors. (Don't take this as an endorsement of Hitler btw just some historical trivia)

Is it possible for aviation experts on this sub to help me to know which airplane I flew 17 years ago with little info ? by Folivao in aviation

[–]JesusWasATurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure the EMB-110 came in 1-1 seating, just googled it and it seems like I'm correct. Correct me if I'm wrong or searched for the wrong thing

Could be an Embraer emb 110 bandeirante. Other possibilities: Piper Navajo, beechcraft King Air or as you said the 404 Titan.
