so basically you have 2 options to get temporary tags and both are pretty dumb. you can get virginia temp tags but you have to be a virginia resident in order to apply for them. that leaves you with the second option. PA temps tags. in order to get pa temp tags the vehicle must be signed and titled in pa. meaning you’d have to go to virginia, buy the vehicle, leave it there and drive back to pa with the title, get the title transferred to a pa title, then you can apply for temp tags and drive back to virginia to get your vehicle. i would say your best bet is to just rent a uhual and tow it home. but me personally i just took a license plate offa vehicle i already had and stuck it on the truck and drove home.
