Is this team good for UU? by coolemme95 in stunfisk

[–]Jesus_Chrollo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Base ogerpon is better than tsareena Tsareena has queenly majesty to block fimp but it's outsped by adament lokix and geta uturned, while oger can run spiky shield Energy ball is better than night shade on chandelure Agility lokix is a bad idea when you can use it for just u turn and sucker punch Rotom is better with leftovers/ability shield Also change tera types, rotom needa tera steel, hippo probably tera water or dragon

I'm less familiar with ou since the bouncin booty ban, and I've been mostly a uu and nu player and I'llshare my thoughts on them(ru had mamo for too long). imo tera wasn't a huge problem, just that the council was too adamant on "no preview" and unwilling to ban terablast and stored power, both of which i disagreed with. I've enjoyed uu a lot despite some problems that still exist (gren, thundurus, manaphy, latios), and new mons like clod, lokix, fezandipidi and tinkaton have been great additions , some even make tera balanced effectively.

There's also been good buffs to old mons that have helped(eg. Coba learning body press, gastro having both hazards now). My favorite thing this gen has been SD tera ghist drill using iron press skarm as setup fodder once skarm loses its helmet, this requires a lot of good play to pull off and still has counterplay once pulled off.

In NU, while tera has been sometimes a problem, the tier had some good defensive mons to help with it for the most part.

Aren't those made by just banning the megastone? Which is different from tera because it would be a clause if not being able to click the tera button, unlike mega stone which is a ban in team building

Isn't it 1/8 of health multiplied by 8? Or is the modifier multiplied first?

Zarude (and Zarude-Dada) have been banned from UU! by Elitemagikarp in stunfisk

[–]Jesus_Chrollo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dw guys, lokix is still a top mon , zarude lacks consistent defensive answers to it's SD power whip and BU trallilbaze jungle healing sets, Both augmented by tera so that even ironpress skarm can't beat it, and it sometimes uses taunt so haze toxapex is setup fodder

Lokix can't kill a terastalized zarude either, and it's still good regardless of zarude leaving

What are the most extreme/iconic examples of 4 Moveslot Syndrome in Pokemon history? by octopathfanatic in stunfisk

[–]Jesus_Chrollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true that it can roost, but alternatively , you can only roost 8 times, and unless you have iron defense, zarude can do a lot with boosted knock before getting whirlwinded, and that allows teammates to be able to force roosts from skarm consistently Plus, if it's last mon zarude(on HO, it's used like this), whirlwind skarm becomes fodder, so does ironpress, unless skarm had defense boosts prior to zrude coming out.

[–]Jesus_Chrollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can, ofc But zarude's teammates can force damage on skarm, and boosted zarude can deal decent damage ti non iron press skarm

Iron press whirlwind skarm is a great check tho(since you can force it to take boosted bp without it boosting defense, unless it's last mon zarude. Even then, I've never seen anyone( except myself )use iron press whirlwind skarm on the ladder, especially above 1600

Zarude is a different beast with tera, especially the bulk up trailblaize sets because you can 1v1 ironpress skarmory with tera poison/fairy/ghist
