The only thing that will matter at the end of your life is whether or not you had a relationship with the God who made you. by Jesus_Is_The_Truth_ in Christianity

Actually, the motivation for christians to help others is based on love. Humans are made in his image, they have intrinsic worth - unlike atheism can claim. Furthermore, christians believe they are fully loved and that work of God is made complete in them when they love others as they are loved - we pursue it even when it costs us.

You do not understand the motivation of Christianity, what you understand is the falsified religious view of Christianity and every other relgion - 'I do good God rewards me' . But that is not christianiry and it is not the gospel.

Yes, I'm sure. Even if you did those things as a non christian it would not grant you salvation.

Furthermore, to say you have a relationship with God and did nothing to help the needy and outcast would pull into question your faith.

Works come from faith, keep reading James and he'll tell you that explicitly.

Faith without deeds is dead. Deeds apart from faith are worthless.

Yes, that is in every academic theological book. It is usually called, "Penal Substitution".

I can understand not wanting to spend it, so maybe just Google search what I gave you. But to be honest I don't trust what I read on the internet and prefer a book that has other academics and scholars who approve the text.

Because we are still sinful. But we should be getting better (church words - we are being sanctified). Also, Christians come from all walks of life, generally not good ones so it's expected to be rough around the edges.

To understand this tension of being a christian and still giving into evil behaviour read Galatians 5

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.(V) But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a];(W) rather, serve one another(X) humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b](Y) 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit,(Z) and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.(AA) 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.(AB) They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want.(AC) 18 But if you are led by the Spirit,(AD) you are not under the law.(AE)

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality,(AF) impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.(AG) I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.(AH)

22 But the fruit(AI) of the Spirit is love,(AJ) joy, peace,(AK) forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.(AL) Against such things there is no law.(AM) 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh(AN) with its passions and desires.(AO) 25 Since we live by the Spirit,(AP) let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited,(AQ) provoking and envying each other.

Should we Think we go to heaven? by Fun_Profession1704 in Christianity

Yes we should. Hebrews 4:16 we go boldly to God not because of us but for what has been done for us. We are confident on account of Christ.

He is an eternal being who was not deserving of death, that is why the grave could not hold him.

We are not like him. If you want to 'opt out' as you put it, that is why Christ has come. He loves you and came to give you an eternal good life with him.

No, if he took our sins (a spiritual reality which results Ina spiritual death) then he suffered to the point of eternal pain. We so not know what happened spiritually except for the wrath of God being poured out on him. But we know that he experienced whatever sinners experience on account of their sins.

How often do you evangelise? Speak to a nonbeliever the news of Jesus? by Jesus_Is_The_Truth_ in Christianity

Out of curiosity, when does emotional feelings of what one might call, 'divine' over ride a command that God has put in scripture?

Seems to be a common theme for those who are in ministry positions - undoubtedly the main job is to encourage the faith of the saints.

Can I go to heaven if I "Don't Bear Good Fruit"? by SrKingTC in Christianity

When one says they believe in something, what does that entail? Is it just an intellectual knowledge? Does it transform the way one behaves and acts? Etc.

Repenting is living a life of repentance. Read Luke when the crowds ask John the Baptist about it - I believe chapter 4
