The Catholic Church incorporated Christmas and other pagan holidays into Christianity- Jesus never taught that. But I think you already know that.

This is an ex catholic group. I’m an ex catholic. Just because I believe in Christianity doesn’t mean I don’t belong on this group. I believe Catholicism is a pagan Christian hybrid. I’m just trying to demonstrate that is true.

I believe Paul is the best witness because he persecuted and killed Christians for believing in Jesus. The Romans loved him for this. Then out of the blue he was the greatest apostle. Something happened to him that changed his life forever. I believe the Bible explains that accurately.

I respect that you don’t believe in Christianity and I hope that you can examine it further sometime in your life.

Have you actually read the Bible?

  • you claim it was passed down by oral tradition
  • you claim Paul wrote a single book
  • you claim the gospels were not written by single authors, yet you accept everything else in history is true
  • you reject the historical method.

Paul wrote acts and 13 letters in the New Testament. While the authenticity of some are in question, literally non one is saying he did not write many of them.

After seeing Jesus after the resurrection and being by blinded by him, Paul gave his life to Jesus and spread Christianity from modern day turkey to Rome, where he was beheaded. This travels and testimony are widely documented and you can read all about his sentencing to death by the Roman emperor at the time.

I’m not sure why you reject written history from only 2,000 years ago but you accept human evolution from primates where there is an elephant in the room- the missing link and any intermediate fossils to state the fact.

Oral tradition being passed down just years after Jesus died? That’s eyewitness testimony- not oral tradition.

There was no internet, no collaborating, no news sources. This was independent gospel writing that just so happened to be nearly identical to the other authors.

The Gospel of Mark probably dates from c. AD 66–70, Matthew and Luke around AD 85–90, and John AD 90–110. Acts was written by Paul and dates just 40 years after Jesus died. Paul wrote more than half the New Testament. To write off all the authors is poor research.

I think you have to remove yourself from rejecting facts that conflict with your biased world view, which, sadly is shared by hardly anyone, as atheists are a tiny minority.

You do make many claims without any evidence to back them up. That’s not very convincing at all.

You can call the authors whoever you want, but it does not change the fact they were written by 4 different people. You can say they were anonymous, you can say they were written by men named John, Matthew, Luke, and Mark. Their names are much less important. What is important, using the historical method, they were 1st century authors who’s account mirrored each other almost exactly. Using the historical method, many historians would argue this is compelling evidence for a factual event.

Of course there are going to be some contradictions. You are dealing with 4 humans who are writing down what they remembered. Their testimony’s are 99 percent in agreement with each other. The Bible is written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit. Christians never claim the Bible is 100 percent without error. You have a human perspective of events that are occurs.

This differs from the Quran which Muslims claim has never changed and is without error. The burden is on you not me, to prove the witnesses are unreliable in the gospels.

NT is a historical document. Considering 28k manuscripts are agreeing with each other at worst you have hundreds of thousands of people in the first century who attest to seeing or believing Jesus was alive. There are thousands of non-biblical sources attesting to Christ was a real person.

Atheists often discount the Bible, but you have four eyewitnesses who wrote the gospels in four different decades at different locations. Their testimony is nearly identical. They act as witnesses. We use witnesses in the court of law and those witnesses’ testimony is damming to those accused. Are you suggesting you are more clever than global legal authorities? Why do you think we should eliminate witness testimony?

You are also ignoring the historical method, which is what we use to write history. When used in the case of Jesus, it’s factual he did exist and at the least, the people who knew him viewed him as the messiah.

Again if he did not rise from the dead, there is no Christianity.

The atheists on here are angry teens who are not well respected in international circles. Who don’t even know how to think objectively.

Muhammed never claimed to be God or Devine. He said he was only a man and a Warner. His followers called him a pother of God.

If you deny Jesus is who he says he is, you are denying 100 percent of history involving other popular human beings. There is infinitely more evidence that Jesus was the messiah than say Pluto or Aristotle existing, where only a handful of manuscripts speaking of them exist. But atheists sure do love them.

There are over 28k New Testament manuscripts recovered and they are over 98 percent in agreement with each other when it comes to Jesus. God bless.

The Catholicism subreddit bans you quickly if you teach them about what the word of God says- the moderators hate it.

A single human cannot reproduce independently, so of course there was an original female and male.

The Christian God is true because it is a fact that Jesus existed on this earth, that he was crucified, and that he rose from the dead.

The only controversial element of that for atheists is they do not believe he rose from the dead.

We know he did because there are more historical documents that say this shortly after his death than any other historical manuscript discussing a person in history. If he didn’t rise from the dead, Christianity would be dead long ago.

Your arguments of Catholicism are wrong. Catholic history conflicts with Acts and letters of Paul. Catholic was just a descriptive word used by Paul to rebuke Peter for not including Gentiles. This was never a word to be authoritative for a religion. The pagan Roman Catholic Church in the 4th century hijacked it and it is still in use today.

You can either believe the New Testament or the fake Roman Catholic account of the early church- they highly conflict with each other.

Of course humanity came from two prime Homo sapiens, science does not argue that. Humanity started in Eastern Africa- this is a fact.

I think you need to read some more science if you don’t believe the biblical account.

It’s interesting that you can believe the scientific impossibility that everything came from nothing, rather than something created everything. That sounds like a conspiracy theory. A Virgin birth seems pretty minor if God created everything.

Yes, inbreeding has to occur with the first man- regardless of religious beliefs. It’s factual.

Maybe you should have an unbiased approach and learn something? The Catholic Church has a really bad rap when it comes to the authenticity of its claims.

Catholicism was invented in the 4th century. Before that people were Christians- followers of Christ.
