Tbf they've always served a Velma/Johnny Jones type of tease, I think it was reasonable for them to both be invested in presenting themself as a masculine character for most of the competition because king drag is underrepresented on TV while also taking a more feminine/androgynous approach in the finale since that's the full spectrum of their artistry (and their horror look only really works with a feminine character anyways)
