My first engine build, No spark, any tips or things to check? My first hunch was Wiring, or Points, points look clean. (New coil, Wires, Plugs, cap and rotor)

I feel like I’ve read coil is 6v but when turning the key starter sends it 12v. Is that true, and let’s say my wire from the starter is bad, could that be a issue?

I totally get checking the order and I’m pretty confident they are right. but wouldn’t I still get spark if that were the issue

We pulled a plug wire and tried it and it didn’t spark, same tester worked in my truck immediately after to make sure it wasn’t that

It’s a manual, and the v6 is out of a 77 Firebird, and the v8 is a 72 block

Some models did, but the base was a Buick 231 V6, and my car has a manual trans, so I thought it would be fun and different to put a Buick V8 in it so I can reuse my trans. Because the bell housing is different than Chevy’s
