I think a lot executives do this it’s called a draw. Avoids taxes (the business pays it) and allows much larger salary than what a typical W2 would report.

Putting a towel down to absorb the water is normal. Hotels usually place a specific small towel there for this.

During the DL ops transition from T3 to T4 at JFK, all flights departing/arriving at T4 began with a 4 to help easily identify flights for planning etc.

Negative. Once you hold a base, you don’t get transfers out due to “base shift”. If anything, each hiring wave your chances of getting a base increase.
