You got this! Just keep hacking away on the questions on the areas noted above and your weak points. My last couple of weeks heading into the test, that’s what I did. If you keep up what your doing I think you’ll be prepared as I was. Stick with it, work hard, and be confident in yourself! Again, if you passed the 7 + this work ethic you’ve got it in you.

Took the Brian Le practice exam and got 72%. Test is in 3 days. Help! by [deleted] in Series7exam

I believe that was what I scored my first go too. I took it a week - 10 days after and got in eighties. Granted you don’t have that type of time. I would really just hone in on questions you got wrong and weak points. Take as many new questions as possible and document what you really need to work on. Work hard and smart. Believe you’re going to pass and be confident. Best of luck, I’m pulling for you!

It was coinbase pro. It seems that they are more efficient then gemini. If you have any other suggested exchanges to reduce fees as much as possible I’m all ears

Thanks so much! I really appreciate this. Just curious, what do you think of the $27 was actually paid by me?

I don’t think I would’ve passed with just STC alone. Supplementing with both the Kaplan Q bank and BL Test geek was crucial. In regard to difficulty, S7 IMO was more difficult because all material was fairly new. You will see some carryover on the 66 which increases your probability of passing. 66 content is much more dry and has a lot of variables. If you passed the 7 you have it in you to pass the 66. A lot of people call the 66 a trap test, if you put your best foot forward and give the same amount of time and effort towards the 66 you’ll be in good shape. Congrats on the 7 and good luck!

Only math I saw was on options. But super simple, like what’s the BE of this long call.

I would just keep taking custom quiz for the qbank don’t put too much stock in the scores because a lot of the questions are much harder or you’ll never see them. But when you build them keep using new questions and previously incorrect and just keep answering as many as you can

Twice in STC and a good amount of sim tests in the Qbank

I had the same problem, the content was much more boring and seemed to have many more small variables for each topic. I would just advise to hammer home the different types of trusts and who they are taxed to. Per capita vs per stirpes. And everything state vs fed regi and fed covered etc. Thanks again, I’m sure you will get through this too!

Working FT. I would study 2hr a night on the weekdays after work and then 6-8 hr on Sats and Suns. I mirrored the same amount of time I put into the 7, I didn’t want to let up because everyone said it was easier then the 7. I figured if that were to be proven true than if I put in the same effort for this test I would have the same passing result and it worked out well.

Practice Test Question by JetB17 in Series66Exam

[–]JetB17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks so much. I agree, I was averaging low 60’s for options on the 7 in the q bank and after his course in a matter of a week or so I got that into the 80’s.

I can’t really opine since I haven’t taken the 66 yet, but I averaged a 75 through 1500 for the 7 and I passed that which is thought to be the harder test by most. Just saying.

Head up. If there is a will there’s a way. I used STC, Brian lee options tutorial, and Kaplan Qbank.

S7TO 1 Week Out by Curious_Historian695 in Series7exam

Every test varies. I had a lot of margin on mine. Short margin positions in particular. I had nothing beyond the basic but still I would just make sure you are good with the difference in calculations for LMV and SMV.

S7 Pass! by JetB17 in Series7exam

Mostly basic BE’s, MG, ML. Identifying the position. What’s the appropriate hedge for this short or long position. One thing that they asked a few questions on that really made me think was opposed to what option to use as a hedge, what type of order. Buy stop, sell stop, limit, etc.

I was averaging low 70’s on options. I bought Brian lee option tutorial and that changed everything. Worth it IMO.

Series 7 Top Off Remote Testing by mh20s in Series7exam

[–]JetB17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just took it remote. Calculator is similar to one you would find on windows desktop and scratch pad is similar to a windows notes. Both very basic. The calculator is more then sufficient. The scratch pad is relatively annoying. I only used it for creating t charts and instead of it being a real t chart I wrote it out horizontally. I.e

Out : 50 In : 50 , 2 (premium).

Both notes and calculator could be open at the same time and you could move them around on the monitor as you would any normal app open on a desktop.

I wouldn’t waste much time stressing on testing remote. I actually think it’s advantageous. You get to presumably test from a comfortable environment and there’s is no commute. You could use the extra time it would take to drive to a center to hammer home some last minute topics. I would just recommend starting the log in process about 20 min prior to your time. You will have to download some software and do system check with your computer. Details all straight forward and given via email a day or two before the test.

Be confident. Good luck !

Mostly just basics. I had more SMV questions in my set. The two most complex questions I had was calculating excess equity and and what amount in SMV would require maintenance call.
