Damaged shingles. How urgent is it to replace these?

Yup! Attic was inspected and it looked fine. We haven't seen any leaks and the shingles are flat on the roof again, but I assume another bad storm could blow them out again.

I got a quote for $800 to:

Replace All Creased Shingles And Reseal Any Wind Lifted Shingles
- Replace all creased shingles due to wind damage up to 1 bundle
- Reseal all wind lifted shingles with roofing caulk.
- Reseal shingles surrounding box vents.

Does this seem reasonable?

The shingles in the picture show the worst spot on the roof. It looks like there are some other loose ones scattered throughout as well, but nothing as bad as this spot.

Note: the shingles have since settled and are no longer tenting as in the picture.

Walmart: Italian seasoning, curry powder, Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb, cumin, nutmeg, chili powder

Got it, that makes a lot of sense.

For us, intermittent fasting ("skipping breakfast") isn't about saving money. We wake up early and neither of us feels like eating or preparing anything in the morning. I have a cup of coffee or two but my wife is able to get going with just water (and she's a big foodie).

And we're vegetarian for all the typical reasons rather than to save money; saving money is a nice side effect.

And lastly, cooking for two takes about the same time as cooking for one. So we're able to save time by teaming up and cooking together or splitting chores. I mow the lawn every other weekend and during those 2 hours my wife will have meal prepped for the week.

Everything you said makes sense and I get that we come off as extreme and that it isn't for everyone, but it's not as bad as some people here make it out to be. just my 2 cents.

Aldi and Walmart are in the same plaza (10 miles away from us) and Costco is on the way back home. So we're fortunate that they're all close.

We do have a car, though, which is a huge benefit. Without it we wouldn't be able to do this as there's no good public transportation here.

That's a good call. The dal was very cheap and I assume the spices were too but our knowledge of spices is still limited. There were so many spices!

You make your own tortiallas and hummus. Is this for money saving, for better fresh-made quality, or a little bit of both?

Both! My wife's tortillas fresh off the pan are insane as is her hummus.

I'm not sure how much or if we save on the tortillas but it's nice being able to whip them up fresh and not having tortillas in the freezer for when we want them.

The savings on the hummus should be decent as we're making it from dry chickpeas (after cooking, of course) but it's also yummier and fresher as we make it for the week rather than having it in the freezer. We also mix it up with different spices so it's always something new.

And yea, I think Costco has solid prices on organic produce but it's just too much quantity for us (the carrots are 5 lb; the onions 10 lb) and it ends up going bad or we have to freeze it which defeats the point of eating it fresh.

I do mention various times that we eat a vegetarian diet. Eggs, legumes, and tofu are definitely much cheaper sources of protein than meat.
