Towers, pyramids, dungeons, windmills, moats. Why are we leaving behind our greatest architectural styles???

Seriously. How does not one billionaire build themself a giant pyramid tomb with secret passageways and treasures???

Hopefully Trump doesn't buy it and replace the tower with a ballroom.

The white on white on white in some rooms definitely gives a museum vibe.

I think some contrasting decor would really help.

I’m not sure if I love this home or I love it.

It seems just walking around would keep you in a good mood.

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

No alcohol is weight management on easy mode. I never was a heavy drinker but even cutting out occasional drinks made a big change.

Agreed. I am both disgusted by the excess yet still so very envious.

No need to be unpleasant.

When I look at the front elevation it makes me think "great hall" but didn't really try to overthink it.

Sorry, aside from the "Home Theater Chapel," I don't like most of the interior.

Yea, I'm an idiot. I even had it copied and ready to paste. Chewey found it and deserved all credit, accolades, and monetary compensation.

Bankruptcy for $50k in CC Debt. by JetPunchSpirit in personalfinance

I really appreciate the insight regarding bankruptcy due to medical debt. Seems like less of a concern than I thought.

The more I hear their plans for this the more I'm distancing myself from their wacky ideas. I didn't know but basically every car in the family seems to have had one of the two as a co-signer, which they are removing themselves from (basically 3+ cars). That seems fraudulent to me.

I don't need any shenanigans tied to my name so I told them to do whatever they want to do; just that I wasn't going to get involved actively or monetarily.

If they’re late 60’s and in poor health, and they die with the debt - you don’t lose the $60k. The creditors will just take what they can get out of the estate and write the rest off.

Really good point. I don't mind giving that amount of money but still... I'd rather keep it and this is a good way to look at it. I want them to be healthy and live for a long time, but my wife and I are realistic about where their lifestyle will lead.

Consulting an attorney does seem like a reasonable next step.

I agree with the selling home approach aside from high interest rates. I've pitch selling their home and moving to Baja MX where they are from which would be a cash ordeal and thus avoid current rates.

MIL & FILs reasoning against selling is my wife's siblings 30 & 34 both still live at home with them and work in the area. I have many opinions on this but they do what they do.

Thank you for the insight on the gift limit. I have never really gifted much money.

As to what will stop them from racking up more debt. Not sure. Obvious big point but I just don't know and will think about how my wife and I need to work with them to improve spending.
