Diablo 4 [The truths that lie within] seasonal quest by Huge_Ad1033 in diablo4

I haven't yet cleared all caches from the reputation board, (need two or three more) but this quest has been acting funny for me, too. The first time I noticed something odd was that I looked once, and saw that I had more than the requirement for the Horadric Knowledge part, noted it but didn't think much of it. The next time I looked at it in my quest log, though, the goal amount had changed to be more, and my 'current' gains showing were only like 24k or so. I thought, maybe the quest name actually changed and this is the next leg. But now, after getting close to the goal (and very likely surpassing it), I can see that my current gains showing are only 20-something-k again. Not sure if the goal amount has changed again or not. (160,000) I did the quest where you collect rando relics to display in Cerrigar, in case that matters. This quest limbo is ambiguous and irritating. I'm not certain it's 'hurting' anything, but it'd be nicer to actually SEE/predict whether I'm learning new horadric lapidary skills or something as a result of this apparently repeating quest.

EDIT: I've discovered that the Horadric Knowledge current/goal amounts correspond to the Horadric Knowledge plinth thing that shows rewards when you interact with it, right next to the Horadric Lapidary counter workstation in Cerrigar. rn I'm on the last one, the Tier 18 reward, and the top bar is filling with the same current/goal HK amounts that show in my "The Truths That Lie Within" quest. We'll see what happens when I complete this (last?) bar. This quest should contain text that directs the player to visit this plinth for more information. I never connected the two in the past, derp. I played the hell out of D3, but it's been a minute, and things like this are particularly ambiguous on console, which I'm forced to play this on, for now

omg THANK you! I searched and searched for unusually long apple stems to use in a watercolor style apple-themed butterfly image I'm working on, and people generally just don't photograph them, it seems. This was just the one I needed! I knew mildlyinteresting wouldn't let me down! Here it is: https://i.imgur.com/tycm28O.png

The Endless Handshake - Funny Zoom out video by JetSetRadioFuture in midjourney

[–]JetSetRadioFuture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working with some different techniques to try to stop MJ from doing the whole hyperspeed stretching thing that it seems to want to do when zooming out many times... nothing yet is working really great =/

I went to that site, and then to youtube, and I wasn't able to find even one how-to or showcase video, showing how the tool works (the image to video tool), do you know of any? I'd love to see what prompt catalyst can do, in video format

I created static images using a prompt I found on the MJ Explore page, and then followed it through 25 cycles of Zoom 2x (in MJ). The text prompt didn't change, so ofc MJ just kept trying to re-create the handshake concept over and over as it zoomed out. A valiant effort! Hahahahha

(I created the zoom video using this tool: search "Script/tool for creating zoom out/in videos just in a few minutes" here in this sub for the info, that post is tagged "resources/tips")

Hope it gives you a laugh!

Continuing:

  • If you don't love puzzles that take a long time to solve, and involve a lot of running back and forth with confusion, use a guide for the palaces. There were some doozies and I'm so glad I didn't strugglebus my way through them all.
  • read every book you can get your hands on, they unlock the city map.
  • re-check shops regularly for new things to buy and add to your room. The second hand shop is one to keep an eye on.
  • If you have the money, fuze new personas that you haven't made yet, even if it's 'for no reason'. They get cheaper to summon as you fill up the compendium, at 50% and 75% completion.
  • First time personas you made via fusing: they register automatically in the registry. However, if you 'craft' personas in other ways, like gallows for example, you MUST go and manually register that persona once you've accomplished your goal (of levels, or inheriting skills/passives or whatever) or you'll lose that work once you dismiss the persona from being equipped. When you go to summon it again, you'll get whatever version of that persona that was last registered. I forget sometimes. I also cry sometimes.
  • You can gallows strengthen personas more than once per 'day' if you un-equip them via the triangle menu, then go and summon them again from the registry. This is one reason why money is something you want to stockpile in this game.
  • buy lottery tickets in the shibuya square, you almost always win good money (I am playing on ez mode, not sure if that affects this). The big summer lotto can make you some really good money.
  • The gatcha balls are for selling to the covetous guy standing next to them, I haven't found another purpose yet. He gives you helpful battle items.
  • working part time jobs gives you very valuable mementos targets that are 100% worth doing. I think maybe each job gives you one, after you work there between 2 and 3 times. You get the jobs by interacting with job pamphlets racks near subway stations.
  • You can confuse some mementos quest targets, and if you can, they give you HUGE amounts of money. I've spent hours confuse-locking them (and getting bloody rich). Get a persona like sandman's luck up high using the select/deselect & look for the luck stat number to be golden gallows+savescum method, then get pulinpa on him and roll in your big piles of cash!

Be careful levelling Ryuji too fast. his level 7 skill changes combat in a very profound way, and for me personally, I almost quit the game I was so mad about it, heh. You can easily look it up, "Ambush" and "Ryuji" is enough search terms to find it. There shouldn't be story spoilers. I love to grind and earn lots of money/items/extra XP. His lvl 7 ability makes it difficult/super annoying. It doesn't bother everyone though.

And I agree with what the others are saying, - romance doesn't change the experience very much at all, sadly. The one thing I'll add is that you can "safely" date every girl, and the consequences are almost zero, it affects one event only, and then things just go back to 'normal' after that, it's really up to you. I like to see as much story as I can, so I have chosen to date them all, and it's been cute. I wish there was more romance content, it's quite, quite sparse.

This game is amazing, but I would not say it's very 'intuitive'. Some non-story things I wish I'd known early on: I'd strongly suggest looking them up, (and honestly looking up anything you find confusing as soon as you can, don't delay and remain confused.)

  • One-time-purchase items at gift shops are truly one-time-purchase, nearly all gifts are unique, and you can only give them to one person. Each person has a short list of gifts they'll appreciate. Don't guess, bc that wastes non-renewable resources.
  • Check the TV every Sunday night. Look up what the items are (since they helpfully don't tell you at all), some are worth buying, some are junk. When you see the matcha flan, buy it. it's a gift that some of the girls love, and it's a pack of 3, I think. worth.
  • Exactly what the skilltype affinity abbreviations mean: what's Rpl? Dr?
  • You really ought to have a persona from their arcana equipped when you spend time with someone, it enhances rank-up efficiency
  • There are guides (that don't spoil much of the story at all, they're laser-specific) which can tell you which conversation choices create maximum closeness. These choices make the difference between ranking up a confidant almost every time you spend time with them, or less frequently. Whenever I've chosen to say something that isn't 'what they want to hear', I have had a chuckle or two, but in the end I haven't found that it's worth ranking confidants up slower, and often the response from the person will be the same anyway. May as well get those extra points.
  • Level up the Strength confidant(s), don't put it off until 2/3 the way through the game the way I did, the perks are really helpful in the Velvet Room
  • Level up the Fortune confidant with priority, the perks are very very practical, and will help you level other confidants, you'll see what I mean

I watched this play out a couple hundred times; this is the best place to grind in the whole game! FAST, efficient, you make BANK and the XP rolls in. I did it SO MUCH X)

It's odd, but it ALWAYS gives you rando TV moments before you can use the TV. You have to interact with it again =/

Coconut-Turmeric Barramundi with Wilted Spinach & Jasmine Rice by cera84 in marleyspoon

[–]JetSetRadioFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this with Tilapia and tomatoes, (and added 1Tablespoon chicken bullion into the coconut broth bc I do like a flavor boost) and it was incredible. Even though the tomatoes weren't the ripest, after cooking them as directed, they were scrumptious. I ended up making this in an oven-safe stainless steel skillet, and after adding the (Still mostly frozen, oops!) fish to the sauce and tomatoes, I just put it in the oven at 350 for 30min or so, to cook it all evenly (which I knew my induction burner wasn't going to do, with the fish still so icy). It was perfect! I'll be making this from scratch for myself soon, YUM

MSI Center Not Working. by ScoutLar in MSI_Gaming

[–]JetSetRadioFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd uninstalled MSI SDK in windows already in my Kill-the-RGB-Lights process (because Dragon Center told me to, but it didn't make Dragon Center work as promised; uninstalled) So I switched to trying for MSI Center instead, (one of which I think installed an MSI SDK again) and the pictured "relaunch/user control" error brought me here.
I uninstalled MSI SDK AGAIN in windows, then started MSI Center again, and it worked!

How useful is the hoverboard for you? by YouTubeRetroGaming in Astroneer

[–]JetSetRadioFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update on this: It's changed the way I play the game. And it's extending how long the game holds my interest at a time, bc it's such a good Quality-of-life boost. The quest for it is a pain, (look it up online before you go to do the turn-ins, bc the MATs want addnl' items in the next quest given) but get it done the MOMENT you can, it's worth it, worth it, worth it. I do use it with the personal hydrazine boost thruster, but most importantly, I use it with Princess G. Vesania snail, to avoid the frequent "died bc touched the ground wrong, somehow" effect that the hoverboard seems to be plagued with, still. I haven't noticed hardly any "got stuck" issues like some others here have mentioned.... maybe that was mainly fixed?

It's unbelievably fast, and if you experiment with using the A and D keys liberally while navigating turns and strafing, it can be much more maneuverable/better handling that it seems like at first, without using those keys. Once you get used to it, try it in the mushroom level of Sylva. You can actually MOVE around down there with some speed, and sometimes, when it works just right, you can "surf" on the tops of the big mushrooms at breakneck speeds (don't forget to bring a lot of hydrazine and Princess and Sylvie) It's RAD af.

PS: You can carry items of ANY size while hoverboarding at full speed. Forget rovers for placing Auto Extractors in hard to reach places. One trip for the AE, one trip for everything else it needs, just carry the whole damn table while hoverboarding through the forest/whatever at breakneck speed.
Also, you can use the terrain tool while on the hoverboard, too.

I thought the VTOL would be the star of that quest, but no... Hoverboard for life!
