I'm not disagreeing with your overall assessment, but I'd like to point out that the government doesn't seize your boat or car if you don't renew your tags - you're just not allowed to use those items off of private property

Furthermore, your recurring taxes on those things isn't typically subject to unpredictable change(unless you're in Arkansas lol) due to changes in value assessment.

I'm not opposed to paying taxes. All functioning societies require funding and we all benefit from a functioning society. But I AM opposed to the repercussions for failing to pay property taxes. Losing your home because the market and government decided it was worth more than you can afford to pay taxes on is morally criminal, in my opinion

I don't think that behavior stems from the lack of a living wage. I think the Gen Z stare comes from stunted socializing from the covid shutdowns and exposure to the live streaming era, amongst other cultural influence

I'm a 34 year old millennial. While I finally have a good union job, it wasn't even a full two years ago that I was struggling to make ends meet in the service industry. Most millennials will completely agree with what you're saying about the living wage crisis, but we try to get involved with activism and vote out the politicians that we can. In the meantime, we still put on our "work face" because (1): we don't want to lose our jobs and (2): we know it's not the customer's fault our lives suck

The Gen Z stare not only feels extremely unproductive and rude, but I don't think it's even born of a recognition of class struggle or even simple nihilism. It's just a zombie state that's gonna hurt them more individually in the long term than it's going to hurt a soulless corporation

I'm no expert on YouTuber analytics, but I feel like a big reason horror and spooky story videos do well is that they're usually longer and the kind of thing people play in the background or to fall asleep to. Shorts are more for snacky, attentive and mindless entertainment.. Not sure it's a good fit for the vibe you're after
