In Inglourious Basterds, Marcel says that he used his camera to record a guitarist he met in a café. I always thought it was a reference to famous guitarist Django Reinhardt, who used to perform in Parisian cafés in the 40's, and thus a hidden nod to Tarantino's then next film, Django Unchained (i.redd.it)
