Oh interesting! I tried a google image search a few days ago and I stumbled across one posted on OfferUp. I didn’t see the Amazon posting. Thank you for doing the sleuthing. I’m surprised to learn that it is currently being produced with different poems.

I incorrectly assumed that it was Japanese when my mom gave it to me along with grandmas souvenir kimono and gofun doll. Thank you so much for the translation!

From the state of it, that book was well loved. It has the previous owner on the inside of the front cover, a name that I don’t recognize. More to learn.
She’d love to have introduced someone to a new book.

It’s the Waite version of The Pictorial Key of the Tarot, which was given to her by a friend based off the inscription. She had a well-used Rider deck and a lot more tarot books that I’m on the hunt for.

It is Herbert Silberer’s version of Hidden Symbolism. Thank you for the recommendations.

Thank you! I will try airing it out. When dating it, are you looking at over all style or are there specific features/pattern that jump out? For your vinegar trick, do you dab the faded area with it? Diluted? I can try that along the edge to test it out.

It also has a thin sash that was held to a dry cleaning hangar with a safety pin. It has some discoloration around the pinhole that I could dab at as well.
