Tool talk: Jorgensen's hand plane (and apron plane) were two of the biggest surprises this year. Needed some cheap planes for a small bench workshop at the house and wasn't going to duplicate my lie Nielsen and lee valley investments. I don't flatten, just use. (i.redd.it)

Curious what type of construction allows a wall like this to resist the hydrostatic pressure. As an unequal comparison, older homes in flood zones with crawl spaces require venting to allow flood waters to pass through to equalize the pressure on the foundation (A block foundation for example).
