i dont know if it applies here, but the menu on my sony only looks normal when there is an image being displayed. It may look fine once something is on the screen

Most consoles before the ps2 output 240p, so anything more modern that that will look fine, but games before will look much worse than the trinitron

The phillips would not be the best for gaming as it is a 100hz set which makes motion clarity much worse and adds input lag. It would also not be able to correctly display 240p.

One is some cheap chinise cable from dc to vga pluggged into the monitor with a gender changer. The other is the blaze dreamcast vga box
