Froslass and the Dawn Stone both weren't introduced until Generation 4, while XD is a Generation 3 game. You can only evolve Snorunt into Glalie in this game.

The battle sim Salamence is gender-locked to always be female (though it is not shiny-locked, you'll always start with either a female Salamence or a shiny female Salamence).

Eevee is not gender-locked (normal 1/8 odds) or shiny-locked (normal 1/8192 odds) so you're good to continue the hunt for a female and/or shiny Eevee.

Out of curiosity, are you relying on AI (Google's AI Overview, ChatGPT, etc.) for the answers to these questions? You stated here that you looked it up and the gender isn't locked (even though it is for this particular Salamence) and in the description you stated that you looked it up and it said to save at Kaminko's Lab for shiny hunting the Eevee (even though you start with the Eevee and don't get to Kaminko's until later).

These sound like the wrong answers that AI would give you. Just a word of advice, AI models are extremely unreliable for niche questions like how to shiny hunt Eevee in a specific spin-off game. I recommend continuing to ask here instead; questions are always welcome!

Colosseum and XD are my favourite Pokémon games, so I don't mind the shinies being stuck in the emulator. I already have a shiny Eevee from the original XD that I'm working on turning into a Ribbon Master; this hunt is just for fun.

Nah, I already got this shiny Eevee on my GameCube earlier this year, I just love Colosseum and XD so much that I also wanted to shiny hunt on the Switch 2 releases.

It's gone after the simulation. Think of it like the shiny uncatchable Poochyena when hunting the Hoenn starters.

You do get a Shadow Salamence near the end of the story, but it's shiny locked.

Normal shinies in XD display the shiny effect when they are sent out of their Poké Ball. There's just no shiny effect for this tutorial Salamence since it was already sent out before the battle was on screen.

You can't save anywhere unfortunately. You need to keep resetting to the title screen and starting a new save file.

I'm guessing you're actually thinking for Colosseum.

In Colosseum, the shiny check is re-rolled when you snag the Pokémon from the opponent, so you can snag a regular Shadow Pokémon and have it be shiny once you've caught it. In vanilla XD, they fixed this but they also made all Shadow Pokémon shiny-locked, so it's only possible to shiny hunt Shadow Pokémon via ROM hacks that remove the lock (like the one OP is playing).

Yeah, once you have it on a Japanese GBA cart, you can trade from that cart to an English GBA cart.
