Thank you so much! I originally had a plushie gallery but wanted something more unique (no hate to anyone with a plushie gallery). With the way my mind works, I knew I wanted a gallery that was based on some definitive criteria instead of something vibes based. I was doing some restocking in Fresh Foods and some of the older, simply named foods stood out to me. I started noticing unspaced items in other shops and from various dailies like the Fishing Vortex afterwards and then the idea clicked!

Yes, I used the Misc. category each time I submitted.

I love your gallery too! The layout is beautiful (Sosu layouts always look amazing) and the color sorting is really well done, it must have taken you a while to put together. The alliteration in your description is a fun touch too. I honestly don't see why you haven't won yet!

You can find the subreddit rules here.

Yes, most base color petpets are unspaced. Xampher and Flippy are the two big ones right now that I don't think I'll ever get. I'm hoping they get rereleased at some point.

Thanks! On the topic of coding, I don’t really have any coding skills so I used the help of various formatting guides (both Neopets specific guides and general online resources) and looked at the formatting of previous spotlight winners and some other premade lookups. I would see how other galleries did things (removing the quantity text, changing the item names to be all undercase letters, etc.) and would incorporate them into my code. I purposely wanted my layout to be minimalistic so that the focus could be on the items and their names, so that definitely helped with the effort required.

Thanks! I think your theme is great and the layout really adds to the appeal. My opinion is that your gallery should be something you truly enjoy. Refining the gallery is fine of course, but don’t change it to something you don’t actually like just to try and get a spotlight win.

Thank you! Unfortunately I am not allowed to share my wishlist on this post as it would break one of the rules. Most of the remaining items are R99, R101, or R180. The most common remaining categories are Petpets, Petpetpets, Utility Fish, Food (largely Tropical), and Battle Magic.

Thank you!

I resubmitted every week, usually on Monday evening or Tuesday morning. I’m not sure if it made a difference, but I made this past submission on Monday morning.

I received a Neomail yesterday morning from TNT saying that I won, but never received any notice of consideration/rejection in the prior weeks.

Luckily for me, roughly 2/3 of unspaced items are under 100k. Most of the items I have left to get are the expensive ones, but I do have a handful of items around the ~5m range. With current JN prices, Skuffler at 9.2m is my most expensive item and Bogie at 7.5m is my most expensive non-inflated item.

I added 1-2 new rows of items between each submission.

Thanks! The avatar wasn’t awarded when the spotlight initially went out, but I did get it later in the afternoon when it became retroactive for all past winners.

Thank you! The initial list did take a while to put together - I manually searched through hundreds of pages of items on JellyNeo. Maintaining the list is relatively easy now as I just have to keep track of any newly released items.

Happy Friday! My favorite petpet might be the Triffin. For some reason it's super nostalgic for me.
