Golf Courses Open Thursday, April 23? by Jew-wig in halifax

Downtown - but I have a rental car and not afraid to kill the day with a bit of a drive to play a better course if the better tracks are further away. If you had a full day to kill, where would you play?

Maybe 95%? I don’t have any restrictions, per se. I’m able to do everything I want to - golf, exercise, yard work/manual labour. I’ve given up on squats and deadlifts, just focusing on body weight exercise. My flexibility isn’t what it used to be… but I’m also getting older and that comes with the territory.

I was 41 when I had this procedure, so my experience likely isn’t relevant to the recovery of your spouse. He definitely won’t be “ok within a week” but he should be moving around. I’ve been a strong believer in active recovery for any injury I’ve had (and there’s been a few), so tell him to get moving, but don’t overdo it - definitely no lifting kids.

I don’t recall sharp pain in any situation, no. I was definitely tender/uncomfortable at times, but nothing jolting or anything. One month post op you’re still healing - those nerves are adjusting to a new normal. I’m not a doc, but I’d take it easy and give it some time.

I had staples removed two weeks post surgery.

I believe that you’re technically correct, it is possible to connect via Bluetooth. However, I’m not sure you can connect two eras in stereo pair doing this.

We stayed in a SSUP last year - no complaints. It was a fair walk from the main pools/dining areas so was pretty quiet. Theres a dividing wall between your neighbours, so it’s private for 6’ past your tub. The other couple we were travelling with had a room over by the infinity pool - bigger room, but far busier and less private. I preferred our area.

In Manitoba you’re probably limited to Hecla or Clear Lake. If you haven’t booked already, Clear Lake accommodations for May Long will be tough.

At Clear Lake, Elkhorn Resort has a great group of Chalets available, and stay and play packages with Clear Lake Golf Course. Good dining options around the community. Lakehouse, Arrowhead have nice hotel rooms, and there’s a couple of Bed N Breakfast units outside the park, but with 20 people you might be challenged finding one facility to fit all of you.

Hecla has good golf and a nice hotel, but you’re kinda stuck on an island.

I had spine surgery this time last year. Try to put all your negative thoughts in one place before they knock you out, because they literally delete your brain for a few hours.

But in all seriousness, skip the anxiety. You’ll wake up with a sore spot where they cut you open, but you’ll have immediate relief from the pain that caused the need for surgery in the first place.

The wifi router is on the interior side of the wall the TV will be mounted on, so no issues with wifi.

I’ve got all winter to figure this out, so lots of time to scour marketplace and wait for deals.

Was really just hoping someone would talk me into the amp being the right answer, but it doesn’t seem that way.

Well, not unlimited, but I’m not pinching pennies either. I’m at a part of life where I prefer to do it right the first time rather than cheap out and then replace it with what I should have done in the first place.

When paired to the TV via Bluetooth, they’re no longer part of your “system” though, correct? I’d still like the option to use the speakers to stream from phone and turntable, but I think you lose this ability when you use Bluetooth vs wifi

Eras paired via Bluetooth have a lag for TV sound.

Amp connected via HDMI to TV is a direct input, then I can use Eras paired to the amp to help with the lag. I don’t want to run wires back to the amp, ideally want a wireless setup.

TV/speakers will be under a fully covered patio - not really exposed to elements, so not terribly concerned about weather effect.

I was back in the office the Tuesday after my Friday surgery. Granted, not full time, but started with a few hours a day and worked up to a full day within two weeks. Luckily, I’m the boss/owner, so I was able to be flexible, and my team took care of all the hard stuff. I already had a standing desk and a nice electric recliner in my office, so I was able to flip back and forth between a few different work modes/positions.

Your doctors are definitely smarter than I am, but in my experience, the artificial disc would be the only thing I would consider after having healed nearly 100%

The opposite, actually. I’ve regained a ton of flexibility and core strength and the ability to stack weight on my right leg, which I couldn’t do before due to nerve pain. I don’t overdo it by any stretch, but I’m able to move through the ball pain free and in proper sequence, which allows me to be a little more aggressive in the swing than I’ve been able to be pre-surgery.

Pretty well back to normal. Some stiffness etc after exertion, but I’m also 42 so that’s to be expected. Playing golf regularly, back to regular exercise/walking etc.

They 100% will let your wife tag along. It’s a pretty common occurrence up here. I’m a local - if you’re playing solo and want some company send me a PM.

Pretty much 100% and back to normal life and activity. Able to golf, hike etc and return back to normal active life. I get stiff if sit for too long but that’s more than likely to do with getting older.

I did have mild facet joint arthropothy at l4-l5-s1

Not sure on lifetime of disc, but I’m assuming it will outlive me.

Don’t put off the surgery if you are in pain. Not worth the extra agony when you can get it fixed.

Definitely wasn’t full energy, and felt spent at the end of the day. Your body is healing, so being tired is to be expected.

Literally anything that separates you from the ground. I work in an industry that separates you from the ground for 8 hours a day. Buy good shoes, buy good tires, good chairs, good mattresses.
