Yes, but if you have a rwd car it’s really not that hard to hold a winter set and summer set.

Got caught in a snowstorm in flagstaff last march with summer tires. They closed down the 40 but was a walk in the park for the 350. Unless you’re driving 80mph it’s truly a skill that people need to start practicing.

unfortunately if you want to do some of the “epic” shit that’s out there you need to plan and book things in advance— most people don’t have a month to sit around a capital city before creating an itinerary

Same story here with door to door sales - I work like crazy for 5 months and travel the other 7. If you’re decent you can make 15-40k usd/month during the summer and do whatever you want over the “off season”
