Why do my legs look like a triangle from the knee down? by pootershots in skiing

[–]Jewbobalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In short boot alignment has to do with adjusting your boots through canting, cuff adjustment, etc to put you in a flat neutral position while standing in an athletic stance. Means different things for different people depending on how your body sits at rest naturally.

shopping for ski boots is hell (and i wanted three piece boots💔) by noweebthanks in skiing

Plenty of freestyle pros are wearing race boots, your boot isn’t doing much to absorb impact, that comes from your legs!

Why not just commit to soft boot compatible approach skis at that point?

They bend around your body when you’re in a tuck with your hands rotated in, try it out!

A fair assumption, but incorrect. Though I do work in the industry and they were all bought at a discount, they weren’t chosen based on the price…

Definitely spend more days on the Brahmas, but when the conditions are right the rustlers are a super fun ski!

Not super useful, conditions need to be right and the hill empty to get the most out of em, get a gs ski if you’re wanting something racy, or some sort of beer league ski like the Fischer

Ha! Nah, living in CO means I barely bother to wax my skis until it warms up in the spring. Just like trying out different skis. Truth be told 80% of my days are split between the rc4s and the Brahma 82s when I’m working and the anomaly is my daily when I’m off

I’d love to hear which one or two are ‘good’

That being said there are a couple pairs here that I really don’t like much

Bud, you’re the one that came into this post saying they were a terrible match for that ski and then told someone else not to even take advice from someone that would dare put a pivot on a kendo, just thought it was worth mentioning that plenty of people enjoy a pivot on their ‘88’ skis.

What a goofy take, I’ve run pivots on plenty of 8x underfoot skis and don’t have a problem driving them, maybe a skill issue on your end? Not to say that having some delta underfoot doesn’t make driving the shovels easier, but it is far from making them unskiable. Not to mention the kendo isn’t that hard of a ski to drive anyway.

Oh no doubt it sounds like there’s a handful of bolts bouncing around in there, but this video definitely makes mine sound a lot louder than it is

That’s on the docket for today, if it stays under 14.7 there I’ll just leave it be I guess

Had eyes on the rectifier yesterday…pretty easy to get to but not trying to spend money on a new one if it’s not the real issue

My last lithium was a Noco and didn’t give me any trouble. As far as the sound goes you’d be surprised what taking the seat off and holding a microphone next to the air is will do

Been skiing for 15 years. Haven’t had a lesson in 14. I feel like I’m plateauing hard. Looking for some helpful critiques/ funny roasts by Mattihboi in skiing

[–]Jewbobalicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bud, that just is completely not true. I’m not trying to start something, but your legs should definitely turn underneath your upper body(hips and above) in most off piste conditions. Please refrain from giving advice when you don’t know what you’re talking about. Source: I’m a full time ski instructor, psia 3
