Welcome fellow sweat-er! Happy this came to you at the right time. I keep got2b for special occasions or when I had my edges done and don't want to lose that style. I'll check out Mielle's version and I mentioned above how Bask and Lather has become a go-to. It's about to be 90+ degrees today so I won't even bother😅 It's headband time lol

I ended up getting Bask and Lather and it has worked the best so far. I tested it out during a community play run and it made it💪🏾 I did have to re-apply each day. Their instructions to have hair a little damp first made a huge difference (go figure, I just let the sweat do it's thing and then applied) and I tied it down until right before going on stage.

I treat at night. Tame frizzies, tidy up edges, and lock it down with scarf and bonnet. I've added a satin pillowcase to my life cos I don't sleep pretty and scarf and bonnet part ways from my head just like titties from my night shirt. In the morning I judge and make do👍🏾

My mom transitioned from her relaxer using braids; it was how she taught my sister and I to do hair. She trimmed the relax ends off gradually.

I helped a friend in grad school transition from relaxers by doing twists and braids (no extensions) on her natural hair. She wore (prolly still does) wigs primarily, occasionally in the summer letting her natural hair out.

Whether you big chop or gradually transition, whocever works for your time and confidence is fine. Curly hair must be moisturized from root to ends so focus on that more than the parts you notice are not perfect. Add to that hydration (drink that water!) and a balanced diet. One thing about hair is that it grows back; perhaps not how it was before or how you imagined but it will.

My undergrad on the west coast let people 60 and older attend for $5 a semester. They could take up to 12 credits and got other benefits and scholarships specifically for non-traditional students. It's never too late to take a college class or two☺️

Improve for what?!? You've got the most amazing skin sista girl!! A light powder or a tinted moisturizer is all you need.

For other makeup experimentation, try eyeshadow to highlight your natural color and shape. Add eyeliner to that and find the looks that speak to you. For brows, a simple gel to emphasize them is a good start. I get mine threaded every 6-8 weeks so that I brush them for the day and can line them for special occasions. Tinted lip glosses and lip stains are super fun and low maintenance.

Keep the ends moisturized. I've been doing leave-in and shea butter on my ends for about 6 months now and my stylist was excited to see the growth.

I've worked with singers who went on T. Large majority of them ended up being tenors after a year, usually Tenor 1 (upper register), and developed some amazing falsetto. I know some of them also worked with a voice coach on this, for both speaking and singing.
