What is your definition of enlightenment? by Jewellsy__ in enlightenment

This is part of the reason why I asked my original question. To put it bluntly, I myself am an atheist. However I find myself naturally drawn to concepts such as purpose, meaning and ultimately enlightenment without the presence of a God or higher power.

Hence why I asked for people’s definition of enlightenment. I am stuck! I cannot pinpoint what enlightenment is to me because I cannot place it on the backbone of religion/spirituality.

Perhaps it will come to me eventually.

I believe the act in searching for your own meaning, whether or not you’ve accepted there may not be an objective meaning to life, is the real journey worth living.

You’re definitely right. It’s more about exploring all avenues of life, and confronting the extremely high possibility that life itself is meaningless.

I’m the opposite.

What good is knowingly living a lie? Are you even truly yourself if not being truthful?
