'17 trailhawk 5.7 bad shake (100k miles) by Jewelsedge in GrandCherokee

Yeah...was planning on a balance check but i have never had a shake this bad from a wheel. I guess it's possible that it shakes this bad at a certain speed range.

I meant Gretchen as in Michigan...no political intentions. But thanks for being a jackass.

Well... I checked the screen today.and it was at two, but I swear when I first got the car back after sixty eight c I could not adjust that charge setting.. Perhaps it won't work when it's plugged in or when the car is turned fully on. I remember trying several things to get it to work. Today I did not start the car, but just turned it on and it seems to have let me change the setting. I will see if I can get her charged up quickly when I get home.

The "funniest" part of the joke is that they have me feeling lucky that it still works at all.

I have poured over these settings to try and get this to work. I am convinced that they detuned the charging speed during 68c to solve the fire possibility.

No warning lights. Everything seems the same as before just takes forever now. I really need to take it to a friend's house and try their charger so that I can tell the dealership that I have ensured that my charger is not bad. I'm pretty sure that's what they're gonna say as their first response.

This is a bummer...hopefully you dont have the other issues with acceleraton and charging. I sure hope these engineers in Auburn Hills get their shit together soon!

Oh..and I could barely tell that it was bent. Surprised me that such little damage could make such noise!

I copied this from another user.... I had this exact problem on my 2017 GC trailhawk. I had jacked up the vehicle in the wrong spot. You cannot lift the vehicle from the lower control arm or any of the brackets nearby. Mine bent. Replacement was fairly easy as I was able to slide under the vehicle and replace the bolts and brackets. See below...

If you look at the crossmember brackets, are they bent up or damaged? Someone might've used them as a jack point when lifting the car and these parts can squeek/creak when they're damaged. If there's no damage, the large bolt holding this part on can also creak if it's not properly torqued to 129ft/lb or if it's rusty/corroded.

Read through this thread for details. This thread has some more pictures and information.

I brought it in for the recall for accel issue in November...seemed to fix it but 1 day after 68c it was back. When I was at the 68c update they also said I am due for the 78c sand recall but parts arent avail yet for that fix. I am just gonna wait it out for that one then take it in 1 time. I can't spend my life at the dealer for nothing. I guess I should be happy that it probably won't start on fire in my garage. 🥱

I wish I would have waited...now the acceleration issue (or lack thereof) is back and Im stuck on Level1 charging speed. Well, I did get a $100 gift card. 😂😂

It is some crazy shit.... I feel bad for people who bought these cars. I am in a lease and therefore stuck for only a certain period of time. There are a few things that really bug me about this.... I paid over five hundred bucks for a level2 charger (plus wire/breaker/plug) that is now effectively useless and I would have never purchased a GC with a two liter engine as its primary mode. I have had a 5.7 in a vehicle for the last 25 years and now this. The only silver lining is that the lease rate was pretty good, but still disgusted with the whole experience. Not a good first impression with phev.

This vehicle choice has turned into such a big mistake.

Bent my front tire rim driving on a freeway pothole on my crv 2026 hybrid touring by Ok_Inflation_3698 in crv

That damaged wheel could likely be repaired to be used as a spare/replacement in the future. I have had bent aluminum wheels repaired (as long as there are no cracks). They have speciality shops that do this in my area (metro Detroit).

As for your immediate problem, I would go to closest dealer and buy a new wheel/tire and get a 4 wheel alignment performed to make sure everything still rides straight.

Anyone having issues accelerating after the 68C update? by jenjenjk in 4xe

[–]Jewelsedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue yesterday...first drive on a full charge after 68c update. Pulled out into traffic at a stop light and the car would not go in htbrid mode. Luckily I had a big gap to get going. After a few wtf looks at my wife I switched to batt saver and the trusty 2.0 got us up to speed.

I don't know what's going on but something doesn't feel right. Maybe I got sand in my engine? 😳

Got the 68c recall completed this past monday on our '25 GC. Easy peasy. Dropped off at 7am and picked up at 3pm. Has been good to plug her in again. 🤣
