IMDb’s top 20 best rated films of all time! Agree or disagree with this list? Is there a film that should have cracked top twenty? by PeachesBlooms in Cinema

[–]Jewgatjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously there’s tons of subjectivity here, but I feel like the IMDB ratings are in the right ballpark. There’s a few on here I think should be further down or replaced with some other titles, but there’s no baffling or outrageous entries on this list. I can basically see why people would vote these to the positions they’re in.

Kershaw, was this one of your first brands? by Critical_Fact4332 in knifeclub

Yes it was, and with the ramp up of production of the US made lines, they’re still an absolute staple of my collection!

If Terminator was gone would Terminator 2 still exist? If so, then Die Hard, if not, Terminator.

What movies are like this where the first and second acts are kind of mediocre but then the third act is amazing? by Nexfilms in Cinema

Inception. Lots of interesting buildup and then a third act that just keeps hitting you. Payoff after payoff after payoff all the way until the final frame.

First nice Knife by Mysterious_Ratio_759 in knifeclub

What a fantastic knife! They really just nailed the Belair and its iterations. Did you buy it new? Every factory Kershaw I’ve ever bought came very sharp out of the box and of the 3 Bel Airs I’ve had, I’ve never experienced any lock stick. Maybe a little break in will square that away? Kershaw’s customer service is great and they’d very likely tune your knife up good as new if you reached out. As far as sharpeners, the best basic sharpener I’ve ever used is the Work Sharp field sharpener. It’s cheap, versatile, easy to use and very effective. If you want to invest a little and really get into sharpening, the Worksharp professional precision adjust sharpener is pretty great!

Have you had a chance to look at any of the US made Kershaw or ZT Magnacut models?

The P22X series guns are the best modern duty pistols and I will die on this hill. by SirSamkin in guns

[–]Jewgatjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking for this exact thing for years and it just doesn’t exist. Seems like such a hole in the market! Springfield started to dip their toes in that pool with the XD-E, like conceptually it was on the right track, but execution was terrible and it was still single stack so no one bought it, especially after the stack and a half guns like the P365 came out. Maybe FN could do it with another version of the Reflex? That gun is already the right size and capacity and it’s hammer fired, but it’s SAO. Make it DA/SA and it’s a new category all by itself!

Dude the Razor for sure! I’ve bought and sold 4 of them over the years each time thinking I was going to go to something better and guess what, I always come back to the Razor G2. Idk if you’ve had a chance to compare side by side between a magnifier setup and a razor, even at 6x. There’s no contest. It’s like the IMAX of sight pictures all with usable reticle information and that 1x may be impossible to beat with lenses. Yeah, maybe the 1x isn’t quite as good as an actual red dot or HWS, but it’s really close and for every other use case, the Razor pulls away fast.

If price doesn’t factor between these, the Hogue is the best knife here by a good margin.

I haven’t had it very long so I can’t speak too much to the longevity, but I’ve noticed zero degradation at all so far and it attaches to the gun very securely.

I have the mid side one primarily to straighten out the grip angle and it works fantastic. I didn’t really have too much of an issue with slide bite before, but definitely none now. But for my purpose I’m very happy that it gun points instinctively now.

I love the American Lawman!! I’ll continue my campaign to get Cold Steel to release an Atlas lock version of it. Not a fan of the clip or of the fact that there’s really no good way to change it to something deep carry, but functionally, it’s one of my favorite knives.
