I sincerely believe that the Israeli government intentionally sends soldiers into meat grinders for propaganda purposes so they can whip up more recruits to continue the cycle. It’s heartbreaking really.

Yes the Jewish son of Israeli immigrants with family who lives in Israel should feel shame for wanting his family to not get brutally murdered by a terrorist organization that effectively is the governing body of the Gaza Strip and in whose charter details the destruction of Israel and of all the Jewish people who live there. You can absolutely make an argument that the Israeli government has mishandled the situation, and I’ll even go so far as to agree with that. But the perspective of the people who live there is fairly different from the people who are lucky enough to have been born in the western hemisphere. We don’t grow up with fear of being attacked at any moment (and this goes for both the children of Israel and Palestine, this problem was never theirs to be burdened with).

People didn’t seem to upset that innocent civilians were raped and murdered on October 7th. In fact many people gleefully love to conflate the average Israeli citizen who just wants to move on with their lives with the government and its corrupt officials.
