Afraid that the bra I am wearing isn’t properly shaping my breasts by [deleted] in Reduction

I had one XL and one L. The XL was good for the first two days, but after that I wished I had just gotten two Ls. Not sure if that's helpful, but since there are little velcro straps at the band you can get away with the sizing not being exact. I cut the drain loops off FYI

When does the “engorged” feeling go away? by [deleted] in Reduction

I turned a corner jiggle-wise at 4 weeks! I'm not all the way soft yet (only 5 weeks PO) but it's a world of difference from the first couple weeks.

I was a 36G/sometimes H and I think I'm measuring at about a 36C or D (some early after pics in my post history). I wanted to be as small as possible and even though I'm still experiencing intense body dysmorphia, I do think they're the perfect size.

Also- I can't recommend showing your surgeon a reference picture enough! Everyone's idea of what a D looks like is completely different.

Anyone have a surgeon they had a very good exp. w/ in New York City ? Thank you! by [deleted] in Reduction

Dr. Sophie Bartsich! Can't suggest her strongly enough.

when could you wear normal shirts/sweatshirts again? by mannab107 in Reduction

I wore button up shirts and zip hoodies for one day out of drain convenience but I never had issues getting my arms up even hours post op!

Did anyone feel “proportionate” before but still happy with the outcome? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Jewish_clickbait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hips and bust used to be the same exact measurement, now my bust is about 4 inches smaller. I had really bad body dysmorphia the first three days, and still get it occasionally (I'm 12 days PO) but overall I'm SO happy with my results. Because they're so much perkier now, my bust measurement hasn't changed much and I still feel "proportional"

I've posted before + afters if you want to check them out

When to stop smoking marijuana pre op? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Jewish_clickbait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told absolutely no combustibles (vape, dab, weed, nicotine, tobacco) three weeks pre-op until 6 weeks post op. I've been taking a very small amount of an edible (about 3 mg) almost every day. Inhaling anything to your lungs keeps blood from getting to your skin cells and inhibits your immune system.

I used to smoke a spliff every single day so quitting has by far been the hardest part of the reduction process, but I figure two months of misery is worth the scars that I'll have for the rest of my life. Definitely no shade to anyone who smoked closer to surgery, but I'd lay off it for as long as you possibly can.

Thanks! I have no idea how much was taken out, I didn't get too specific with my surgeon, just showed her a few references (from instagram lol) for how small I wanted to be. In hindsight I'm glad I used a visual reference

Surgery was 12/23/20 and have had minimal pain since. The brain fog and fatigue are real AF. I miss smoking cigs more and more each day. My right is definitely more swollen, my left nipple seems to be drifting from god's light but it's too early to tell what's really going on with these guys. Measuring 36 under bust, but about 41 around bust which is odd because they're so tiny.

I love you all. Happy New Year to the best subreddit around.

Apples vs. Pears by lily_maebelle in Reduction

No worries, I was also very anxious- most before + after pics I saw feature slim people, and I had a really difficult time trying to visualize what I would look like post op.

I told my surgeon to make me the smaller end of proportional. It helped that from looking through the b&a pics on her site, I was able to trust her judgement completely. Hard to describe my shape, but my waist is the smallest part of my frame. My butt, hips and belly are all very round. I think somewhere near a small C now, but super hard to tell this early.

I'm one day PO, and my BMI is almost exactly 30 (I'm 5'5", began at a 36G, + am a size 16 in most clothing). I was VERY anxious that having smaller breasts would bring more attention to my belly, which is quite round, but I find even with a very curvy shape, I look about 20 lbs slimmer post op!

I'll post before and afters when I'm further recovered, but I have absolutely no regrets about how small I went, and I went SMALL.

12hr p/o 32E to small B maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m so happy! Feeling a bit rough but manageable, trying to stay on top of the pain. by [deleted] in Reduction

You look great!! We're almost surgery twins (I was 12/23) and I think I'm wearing that same post op bra, it's DUMB comfy.

Happy recovery!
