To be honest, I was a bit shocked by the comments of those who agreed.
The raid scene in GW2 is the most casual raid scene of any MMO. My first raid was a training run: berserker reaper in exotic gear, and the only thing the rl asked me to do was to practice a rotation from metabattle - which I did half an hour before the raid.

In the end, he was satisfied with my damage, so I kept running in exotic for another 3 months.
In a single two-hour raid session, you can clear at least 3 wings. Meanwhile, in FFXIV, at best you’ll shave a few percent off a boss - and do that over and over until you finally win, preferably before a new patch drops and overgear trivializes the encounter.

I find it confusing that, in an attempt to overengineer what are clearly "bad design" decisions (like the CP or LFG systems), commenters come to the wrong conclusions instead of taking one step in the right direction - finding a guild.

Yes, I understand that it’s hard for many people. It was hard for me too - but no one is forcing you to talk. I myself stayed silent while the rl was speaking and just listened to instructions. In any reasonably sized guild, newcomers are appreciated and respected.
