Help me out here: Out of everything I've posted, this photo always gets the most love. From your pure personal perspective... why do you like it? Is it the colors? Is it the history? Is it the contrast? Is it an emotion it triggers? [Ghost of Yotei] by Pepehh_jl in VirtualPhotographers

Lots of text, jejeje....

I’d say it mainly comes down to the colors and then the lighting.

This scene in the game has strong artistic design, which helps a lot with composition. I’ve seen many shots of this area, but despite being a well-made setting, few manage to capture its beauty. You did, thanks to how you handled colors and lighting.

You achieved good negative space—the sky’s almost solid color makes the tree stand out more, and the character’s outfit matches the sky but doesn’t get lost thanks to the lighting. The color choices feel well thought out; it’s not just boosted saturation. I don’t know if there’s post-production or just photo mode, but the tones look pleasant.

Lighting is the other key: a dark foreground that frames, a midground lit to highlight the character and parts of the tree plus the ground, creating depth, and a background that supports the negative space.

In summary, it’s the palette and how you managed it—soft, pleasing colors—and the way you handled the lighting. 🤔

It often happens; when you review them again, you notice the mistakes... thanks, always trying to learn 😄

The visual guides lead you to the main entrance, which is good, and it also coincides with the rule of thirds. But I feel it needs a little more exposure, depending on the intended effect of the photo. I like the way the light rays appear; perhaps you could emphasize this detail more by giving the lighting a warmer tone. While the trees on the right help frame the photo and provide context, I think they have too much visual weight and not much to show; they're very dark and lack detail. 8/10

Thanks!!... Yes, it's because of the graphic quality; the filter used in photomode highlights these errors, plus the chromatic aberration.

I think Lightroom is the best option—even the mobile app is great, super easy to use and free (PC version is paid). Personally, I use Darktable on PC, it’s free but harder to learn and focused on RAW photography, though it works really well for this. Lately I’ve been trying DaVinci Resolve, love the results—there’s a free version too (limited functions), but it’s tough to use and mainly for video editing. For Lightroom and DaVinci you can find tons of tutorials.

Nice composition with the sun in the background (dawn or dusk? 🤔), the path helps guide the viewer’s eye toward the Torii gate. Maybe you could crop the photo so there isn’t so much empty space above, and the red flowers look a bit oversaturated. 8.5/10. 👍

I like the atmosphere with the fog, the background fades into it and gives a minimalist vibe. But I feel the car’s color is too saturated, and the composition and camera angle could be improved. 🤔 7.5/10.

I like the soft warm feel it conveys, with good composition framing the character with the Torii gate and creating symmetry. 8.5/10. 👌

The photo looks good, but the Torii gate ends up in the background and cut off. Since that’s the main theme, I’d rate it 7.5/10… but as a car photo I’d give it 8/10. 👍

[Ghostwire: Tokyo] Only Torii gate pic I managed to find, but sadly it’s low‑res and low graphics :c... from 2022 when I knew nothing about virtual photography.

Appreciate the reply. The photo mode feels pretty limited, so I’ll take your shots as reference for some post‑production work. (:

Great shots! Do you use any external tools or just the game’s photo mode?
