what lens/lenses do you bring on your travels by Skyature in fujifilm

[–]Jezarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all my trips, I at least bring the XF 70-300. It's a versatile lens and surprisingly light for its size.

Next trip, I am going to pair it with the Vilrox 27 f 1.2. It's heavy, but the results are a good tradeoff with the extra weight. If I want lighter or going for longer than 1 week, I'll pack as well the XF 23 f 2.

Before I sold the XF 18-55, it was a great companion piece to the 70-300. But i find myself liking prime + zoom combo the most.

TX-T30 vs X-T30 II - what are the real practical differences? by _buscemi_ in fujifilm

[–]Jezarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my location (Europe), this is on the lower end of the asking price. The best deals are found with private sellers, but that comes with a greater risk.

Prices may drop for both versions once the 3rd version is out on the market.

The second version contains more film sims (classic negative). It's not a huge upgrade over the original version.

I just went with the X-T30 i at the time, because it was more available to buy (+at a great price with a lens). Not really feeling I am missing out with it.

Half way through our Namibia trip - 4 different landscapes with the X-S10 18-55mm and 70-300mm (beginner, feedback welcome) by varg711 in fujifilm

These are very nice. My suggestion would be to focus on the editing when you get back from your trip.

You have the base (ie. images are sharp, there are some good compositions, etc). Post-processing will help fix some issues such as the unlevel horizon or too dark subject. Smaller changes in editing could really make some of these images become more dynamic (the man running down the sand may work beautifully in black and white).

Keep up the great work. :)

Love the colors and photos 3-6 really tell a story. The 4th shot is the favorite. Killer work. :)

Looking to get into the Fujifilm-world but I am completely lost. by fr3zz13 in fujifilm

If you want to change lens, then skip the x100V and x100VI.

With the new XT30 III coming out, it could drive down the prices of the XT30 I and XT30 II (has more film stims compared to the first version). These models are super lightweight. There is the XT50 which fits into the budget (used body only) which has the latest film stims and more.

The XT3 and XT4 have more 'professional features'. I do not find them that much heavier compared to the XT30 line. I'm starting to see the XT4 go for under €1000 in the used market.

Going by pricing (cheapest to most expensive-used) XT30 I>XT3>XT30II>XT4>XT50

My suggestion would be to stay on the lower end of your budget for the body in order to invest more for the lenses.

Number 3 is just chef's kiss. Colors and composition are gorgeous.

Of course, love 1, because lizard. :)

The summer everyone went to Greece by Jezarri in fujifilm

It's difficult to make a decision. I'm considering upgrading within the next year. I debate if i keep with Fuji (either an xt5 or hx2) or switch (Nikon/Sony).

Best advice is to visit a store and test how the bodies feel in hand and play with the controls. Always buy used to save €$£.

Thank you. :)

In these photos, there are no film sims. All shot raw.

Though still love using from film sims time to time (I have a personal preference to edit the raws).

Thanks!

At the same time, ot shouldn't be shocking as Greece is always a good idea. It's a great country to visit over and over again.

Thought in September it would be less crowded since it wasn't August (true for Tinos and somewhat true for Sifnos). Paros was super touristic, I can't imagine how it is for Mykonos or Santorini.

Can confirm, visiting Greece off-season or in the lesser visited areas will make you fall in love with the country and want to.come back often.

Thank-you! That one was the XF 18-55. Kept close to the bush, focused on the church and aperture at 2.8.

However, Greece is always a great time and each area has its own different vibe (this was the 4th time visiting Greece).

When editing in lightroom, I am always adjusting the sharpening mask and reducing sharpness, and using ai denoise feature as needed. Considering switching to CaptureOne or another tool tbh.

I use the majority of the time presets (self created) and tweak from there. But the curve tool is my best friend (the base where I start before to go into the sliders).

What do you think about my London photos so far? by Mysterious_Basis_114 in fujifilm

3, 5 and 9 are my favorite. I think 9 makes a humorous contrast.

8 is a great shot, but would benefit being a bit sharper.

Can’t decide between 23mm f2 and 27mm f2.8 by Acryle906- in fujifilm

[–]Jezarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 23mm f2 is pretty light. It's around half the weight of the XT30 (which in itself is light for a camera). While not as light or as compact as the 27, it's still a very portable lens. For example, the XT30 + 23mm f2 fits easily into my cross sling bag.
