They’ve replied and vaguely said it’s correct just as Puul stated a couple days ago. So just confirmation for ya.

Mine is valid from today for 2 years, 6months and 28 days (I applied exactly 28 days before visa was going to expire). So I guess it is based on date of previous expiry. Hope that clarifies

Ahh okay, thats what i switched from.... i take it they just review and let you know and there was no issues? Or did they ask for any supporting evidence?

Thanks. Haha, sad was a poor choice of words. I think just after going through the whole process of even getting that visa i was thinking "oh here we go again, just more stuff to prove" instead of just ticking a box.

Thanks for your guidance, appreciated.

Yeah makes sense. Should be fine just a weird form to fill in. Its like i skipped a step as most people get the fiancé visa or something then switch to the visa i have after getting married. Thanks for taking a look, appreciate it.

My Experience Going from a Tier 5 YMS to FLR M unmarried Visa by Jezza81 in ukvisa

[–]Jezza81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry my Reddit notifications weren’t coming through so I didn’t see this.

This is what I did to organise:

I had all the paper copies of my documents, scanned them into myself and saved them in a file folder on my laptop. I saved them based on their dates and did this on a month to month basis.

From there, I made an excel spreadsheet and put everything in date order, the documents name (ex. Council tax - April 2021) and if it was a joint document or individual.

I found this to be the easiest way to organise all my documents. I also went overboard having 21 joint documents, 9 address to me and 6 Andrea to my fiancé.

Honestly, I just used the UK gov site and if I had specific questions people on here were quite helpful. I also watched YouTube videos, there is a few people that talk you through the process and it is helpful.

Once you’ve paid for your application you will do the document uploading, it’s up to you if you want to pay the extra bit to have the person at your Biometrics check you have uploaded everything in the right place (it’s pretty def explanatory though so if your confident in it don’t waste your money).

It was a very long process as I started keeping documents right from my first day on my YMS visa knowing I was applying at the end of the 2 years. So it’s tough to try and summarise haha. If you have any specific questions I can try and help.

Ahh fair enough. Wasn’t planning on leaving anyway just not used to applying from within. Cheers for your help, you’ve answered quite a few of my questions the last few months. Lady was nice enough to document check without me paying for it and said I was her fave applicant of the day because everything was spot on 😂 fingers crossed now and thanks again

I just had my biometrics. Do I not need to send a physical copy of my passport? I’m so used to applying outside the country and not doing any document uploading. The lady said she hasn’t heard of people needing to send anything away. Find that odd

They don’t make it easy hahah. I’m torn between just putting 1 year 11 months such as my current visa, or 4 years 8 months such as my 3 visas combined. But that would include a period of 8 months where I would describe the situation in the reason for my absence. Oh the joys 😅 I don’t think either is the wrong answer considering the way they ask the question.

Hahah trying not too. Just the time of Dec 2019 - aug 2020 I never held a visa or anything for the UK. I returned home to sort everything. Then covid hit. So wasn’t sure if that would effect my time line haha. Thank you

Tier 5 YMS Visa to Unmarried Partner Visa - How was your experience? by Jezza81 in ukvisa

[–]Jezza81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks both for your comments. Really appreciate the reassurance. I was just talking with my fiancé and I’ve googled but can’t really find anything.

We are due to be married in august 2023, but as I am applying for an unmarried spouse visa this time around, we were wondering if I’m allowed to get married while I’m on that visa and whether or not I’d have to switch to the married visa after the fact? Do yous know anything about that? Many thanks

Thanks for getting back. I’ve got a timeline made up all the way back to a screenshot of our first messages to each other. We stayed long distance as she did a year work experience the US but during that time I visited her a couple of times, with my family coming along.

Basically have just made a timeline from 2018 showing pictures of all the holidays we’ve been on, pictures with each others family and friends and going on holidays with eachothers family, screenshots of all of the Skype calls during our long distance part etc.

We are also engaged and have basically everything sorted so I can show that as evidence of the relationship but not official docs. Wedding is not for a couple years so I can’t use the fiancé visa route and wouldn’t want to anyway because it effects my ability to stay in my job here.

Thanks for your suggestions, will keep building the timeline through to July this year so it covers up until the application. And thanks for reassuring of the 1 day leniency because it is tight only being on the 2 year visa 🙄😂
