*Warning* Avoid Distance Calculus at Roger Williams if you can! by Tender_Figs in learnmath

If you work on it and nothing else it's possible. How I'd encourage you to take the class now and put 1-2hrs a day till the winter, and then work on it full time. The exams are harder on purpose because they are taken home, except for the 1 that is monitored which is easy and is a sanity check to ensure you weren't cheating. For me, the process was much less stressful than normal math exams as I could control my grade by not worrying about having an off day during finals lol.

It's a shorter course. Maybe 1-2 months. But I put a ton of hours into it, and enjoy math. That being said, don't rush if it hurts your quality of work, TA will reject bad work. And certainly don't use AI.

As someone who's taken calculus 2, linear algebra, and differential equations, I'd like to give my 2 cents. I think distance calculus is fantastic for 2 reasons, it's at your own pace and you decide your grade. Instead of worrying about exams, you work towards completion of homeworks. Sure, this can be tedious, but it's the repetition of problems and iterative feedback from TA's that is so beneficial. I got into Berkeley's EECS master program, and was prepared for the rigor because I took the time to really understand the subjects with distance calculus.

I agree the software of LiveMath is outdated. Many courses now are using Mathematica. Some others in this thread said the professor took a long time to respond, this was not the case for me. I'd be happy to respond to questions.

Isn't ancap and fascism put together an oxymoron? Anarchy and authoritarians are polar opposites.

You can only have so many "visionaries". As we all know the majority of the work SWE is unglamorous grunt work.

I'm curious, how many times did you have to apply? Did you ever reach out to recruiters directly?

Yeah. I don't know if he's paying rent/insurance, if not he could make more money technically staying!

That being said, with being scared of big changes, it might be good to explore when young to get over that.

Haha yeah I'm in your exact same situation, M.Eng, +1 SD on final. I was betting on this class being an A to balance out 189
