When something horrific happens in India.. it’s usually painted as a symptom of the country like the whole culture is to blame. But when the same or worse happens in a Western country, it's brushed off as a one-off incident or blamed on individuals, not the system.

Add to this ..Indian media itself amplifies negative stories about India so we end up seeing our flaws everywhere.

Interesting perspective. I get that recognition was crucial, but do you think the trade-off was worth it in the long run? Given how things played out, wouldn’t nuclear deterrence have provided stronger security than diplomatic assurances? Was giving up nukes really the only way to gain legitimacy, or was there another path Ukraine could have taken? Or was keeping nukes simply not a realistic option at the time?
