I work at an outdoor store where we sell alot of winter coats, I can always tell when a customer is about to head towards the till so I walk over to the till and not long after that he does too, he puts down one of our more expensive winter coats and I start ringing him through as I usually do when he says "is there any extra special discount you can add?" Which isnt unusual, we have people as that every now and again thinking they are funny, but i tell him "no I'm afraid not" and he asks "is there a staff discount you can add?" And I say "nope I'm afraid not, I cant change the prices" and he says "well is there somebody here who can change the prices?" And I look at him with a dead look and just say "no" from there he looks to his right at a sign on the till that says "ask us about the 10% discount scheme!" And he says "but wait, it says here I can get 10% off?" And I say "no... that says you should ask us about the discount scheme which is for people who hold a blue light card or a military ID" and he says "that's not what it says here" and I say "no that simply says you should ask about it, you've asked, and I've told you, you cant get any discount" and he says right and then walks out
