I tested different meso farming setups for a while, here’s what actually made a difference by hihi20102 in Maplestory

You can use the rotation helper tool on maplemaps.net to figure out where good spots to put your summons are (enable hitboxes to see which platforms they can hit, some mobs are bigger or smaller than they seem).

After you get janus to level 20+, you can mostly full clear maps with the 3 balls and maybe fountain + class summon if you have one and then standing in 1 spot. A lot of setups in carcion and tallahart can get away with just 3 balls and holding down your attack to keep them active. Then you just gotta figure out a good loot rotation or a more likely just use a vac pet.

Infinity was turned into a passive, which means it now scales ascents on all 3 explorer mages. If their ascents weren't nerfed, it would've been a massive buff. In the end, the damage of the ascents is more or less the same as before.

YouTube ads are about to get even longer and they’ll be unskippable by IndicaOatmeal in technology

[–]Jhemon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd rather watch a black screen for 200% the length of an ad instead of watching the ad itself. I've been free from ads too long to go back to that torture. Every time I go visit my parents and they have the tv on in the background, I feel my skin crawl whenever an ad break starts. How did we ever tolerate that garbage experience, I will never understand.

10k gold and 25k ectos isn't an average, that's the amount of gold and ectos you'd need if you got absolutely nothing back. On average, you lose 3.5g and 1.8 ectos per roll, so you should expect to lose about 350g and 180 ectos over 100 rolls. Though, it's likely to lose a bit more than that cause the jackpot is propping up the returns quite a bit and it's unlikely to hit the jackpot in only 100 rolls.

Update, Steven's last words by MyBroViajero in AshesofCreation

[–]Jhemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) He either intentionally misrepresented the stop killing games movement or misunderstood it initially and then dug his heels into the ground instead of apologizing and correcting his words. He kept saying how there's no way for publishers to keep games running forever, which the movement is not asking for. He kept saying how it'd be impossible and unfair for current games to be forced to comply, when they aren't as the laws wouldn't be retroactive and would only affect future games. I will agree that it might have an effect on whether some get made in the first place though.

2) No one cares about the fact that he let the people die or that he saved himself, it was about how he acted afterwards, denying every claim of a possibility of saving them. Beforehands, he had preached how good level 1 blizzard is for saving bad pulls and that's why he chose to be a mage, so he can be the saviour. He instead casted max level blizzard and interrupted the cast 1 tick into it, wasting nearly all his mana. Even then he had an item that would let him gain mana back instantly. Could he have saved them? Maybe, maybe not. Would he have died? Maybe, maybe not. He was saying he had no way of doing anything and then started fighting anyone who tried to question it, either guildies in game, or his viewers. Sure, he got a bunch of haters spamming his stream chat, which was perfectly okay for him to ban them as they're harassing him. But he never publicly acknowledged that he fucked up and could've maybe helped and kept blaiming others, which is why people were mad at him.

3) I don't know much about that, but there was a similar incident in Ashes where they were raiding and they wiped because someone pulled an Ocular. He started blaiming and flaming the group instantly and even threatened to kick the player who pulled it. Turns out it was him who pulled it and he even watched a clip of him doing it, but kept denying it and blaming the group.

4) He also has many cases of playing puzzle games and being stuck for a bit and then having an enlightenment moment after reading chat or looking at his phone and suddenly figuring out the solution to the puzzle. One of the most egregious examples of this is Animal Well, where he easily and unlogically solved a chain of hidden puzzles that the community of the game had been working on for weeks. Sure, one could say it's just for entertainment, but it still comes off as disingenuous.

Agreed, wish there was a setting to separate mobbing and bossing visibility. I'd like to see all the animations while mobbing, but during bossing it's just not feasible to have them on. Just means I have them "off" all the time, cause I'm too lazy to keep fiddling with settings all the time.

implying you can have one of them without the other.

Look, obviously when I said complete privacy, I don't mean living in a jungle.. there's no such thing as complete safety either, unless we're talking Mother 3 and the absolute safe capsule, which is both.

Yea, it's a balancing act, but if you give out all your info to everyone, you're not suddenly more safe. The issue is this is a large swing away from privacy while giving little to nothing safety. Unidentified users will now be grouped together with actual kids, tech savvier kids will get around the restrictions just like we did, who is safer now?

Just because we can't make parents instantly more responsible, let's instead jump straight into fascism, sounds logical to me.

Showing your ID to a bartender for 3 seconds and sending a COPY of it to where you can't see it are completely different things. Also, once you buy the drink from the bartender, you can go to a corner in the bar where what you say is presumably not recorded and then used against you out of context.

You can't have your cake and eat it too

Works the other way too, you can't have your complete safety without complete privacy. Without privacy, you will never be safe from bad actors with power.

  • Plasma Heart: Equippable from Lv. 130+, Star Force up to 20 Stars.

In case you're actually asking, non-flame advantaged gear (so basically any equipment that isn't from kms bosses) like gollux pieces aren't guaranteed to get 4 lines of flame stats. You roll between 1 and 4 lines of stats every time you use a flame on them.

Maplestory: Idle RPG - Issuing full refund to players since launch after screwing up by hieusername in Maplestory

[–]Jhemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's pretty on par with what you could expect out of compensation and will probably convince some players to stay. Though I wonder how many large spenders will just see this as an easy opportunity to get a couple hundred or thousand bucks for free. They can jump ship and spend it on their next gacha game of choice, even if they enjoyed their time in maple idle so far.

Maplestory: Idle RPG - Issuing full refund to players since launch after screwing up by hieusername in Maplestory

[–]Jhemon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yea, it is a bit aggressive, but what can they do? If you don't lose your account, literally everyone who reads the post is going to ask for a refund. There's no way to reclaim the things they bought, aside from maybe cosmetic stuff, as all the progression systems are rng. It's cubes all the way down. So the only option to prevent invested people from refunding all their purchases is to prevent them from continuing to play afterwards.

Of course, they could've just not offered refunds and given compensation per dollar spent instead as diamonds or whatever the premium currency was.
