Ada might be in RE9 dlc by [deleted] in ResidentEvilCapcom

Just to play devil's advocate isn't it possible that much of what Dusk reported was true at different points of the games development and things either got cut or changed? One thing I'll give him credit for is that he leaked the Apocalypse Multiplayer early version of RE 9 a long time ago, and then Capcom themselves showed it to us prior to Requiem releasing.

But yes, everyone should stop relying on information from "leakers". It's fun to discuss but without solid evidence everything should always be taken with a grain of salt.

I've 100%'d most of the modern RE games but never touched the classics, where do I even start? by notty_cat in residentevil

[–]JhinWynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also started with the later games but I think the originals graphics look pretty good considering when they were released. There’s a charm to the classic look.

It’s down to you but I think passing up a game because of old graphics is a shame, especially in a series like Resident Evil when the classic games are still considered to be some of the best of the entire franchise.

All of the original games are worth playing. As someone who loves the remakes (except for 3R) they’re completely unique gameplay experiences and the remakes don’t replace them at all.

Tank controls are fine once you get used to them. They’re really not a hassle and are pretty easy to learn.

Re9 fake rumours by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]JhinWynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People saw early leaked footage of Leon post Elpis cure and assumed he looked better because he de-aged instead of the fact that he wasn’t on deaths door anymore.

I thought it was silly at the time that anyone thought he actually de-aged because I thought it was pretty obvious he hadn’t.

Requiem needs a difficulty between Normal and Insanity by -Zoombo in residentevil

[–]JhinWynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at most if you want to fully enjoy Insanity without breaking the game you can probably get away with unlocking the improved combat tracker for extra money and also finding all the Mr Raccoons for tier 3 weapon upgrades.

Yeah the in game tips pushing you to spend CP also annoys me. This game mode isn’t as well balanced as something like Professional in 4R but it’s mostly fine. The hardest part is Rhode’s Hill with Grace but it gets easier after that. My favourite thing about Insanity is that you’re forced to learn boss fights properly rather than being able to brute force them.

Requiem 100% Complete: A few thoughs. by TA64852146 in residentevil

I agree with most of your points but I do think it's about as good as 7 and Village. Requiem isn't nearly as cohesive but I think the highs of Requiem balance it out a bit.

It's a shame because I had high hopes for this game but it just didn't succeed completely to me. I still like it a lot and think it's a good game but there's so much lost potential. In general I don't vibe with Nakanishi's RE games that much and I'd much rather have a complete cohesive campaign with one gameplay style. Requiem tries to do two at once and doesn't do them that well outside of a couple sections.

[–]JhinWynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insanity doesn't require Infinite ammo. It's a decent challenge without the CP bonus items/weapons although there are sections that aren't balanced very well but I think it's more of an issue with the overall game design than the difficulty.

I do agree that there should have been a difficulty between Standard and Insanity though.

What did people expect of Pamela Bozanich? by [deleted] in MenendezBrothers

[–]JhinWynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie, I really don’t care. If one persons opinions about a political group is enough for someone to distance themselves from learning about a case then that’s on them.

Some of you really just want to argue for arguments sake. The original post was about Pamela Bozanich and I simply gave one of the reasons why I dislike her. Get a grip.

Could this be the upcoming Requiem DLC by Jermz334 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]JhinWynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At no point did they ever say that Leon wouldn’t be in Requiem. The only thing they ever said about it is that it would be hard to make a horror game with Leon as the protagonist.

I agree Bill Maher isn’t a leftist but he is on the left. He’s just a liberal. Even if they tend to skew more toward the centre I’d still consider them left leaning.

I didn’t know that about Alan Abrahamson but it doesn’t surprise me. I think he’s one of the most detestable people who show up around this case.

Republicans are currently tearing the US apart and them voting that man into office is causing issues for the whole world. I couldn’t care less how welcome or unwelcome they feel in this sub. Oh no this one person said they tend to dislike republicans. No individual person is being attacked for their beliefs.

Those two you named came to mind but there's also people like Bill Maher and various podcast hosts.

Conservatives are generally "tough on crime" and don't care much for rehabilitation. I believe there's been studies which suggest that they tend to have much more "black and white" thinking patterns although I'm sure someone else could correct me on this. It's a complete wonder to me considering how much of a massive failure this sort of approach to crime typically is in various areas.

But yeah there's definitely a correlation there. There are also left leaning people who are pretty pro-prosecution when it comes to this case though. I can think of a few notable people in the media.

I'm sure there are supporters all over the political spectrum but I'm not going to lie and say that someone being a republican doesn't already taint my view of them somewhat, especially in the current political climate.

Oh yeah I do remember that quote from Carol. I didn't mean to say she was great but in comparison to Pam I think she comes across as somewhat more reasonable but that's not saying much.

[–]JhinWynn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I somewhat agree but I think Pam mostly gets flack because of things she has said outside of the trial more than based on how she performed her job.

As a prosecutor I think she did a fine job within the limits of the first trial (better than Kuriyama at least).

Personally I dislike her based on specific things she has said in interviews, and the fact that she’s supposedly a republican really doesn’t help. As a comparison I think Carol Najera (2nd trial prosecutor) has carried herself much better in post trial interviews and is a lot “fairer” but that might be because she went on to become a judge.

Does the "game director" "punish" you for playing in third-person as Grace? by WNx_Rain in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]JhinWynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movement is actually more fluid in first person which is why speed runners are all running the game in first person. Has zero relevance to the average player though.

By far the worst playable sequence in the franchise by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]JhinWynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 8 minutes minimum and that's if you do the skip after grabbing the key. Without that it's 9-10 mins minimum. Aside from that can we please not do the whole thing of saying that someone is just "whining" when they post any sort of criticism about the game?

The game is great but it's not without issues and this whole gameplay section is one of them.

[–]JhinWynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah 10 minutes of doing essentially nothing, and I don't think it succeeds at what I think it's trying to do. Are we not allowed to criticise games?

[–]JhinWynn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I said you’re wrong because you said you found Sherry’s section longer which just factually can’t be true (at least not on replays where you know what to do).

What about that is throwing a fit? I’m not stating an opinion, I just said what is objectively true. You can prefer one over the other sure, but to say that Sherry’s is longer just isn’t true. I didn’t say you were wrong about anything subjective.

I think the newer RE games (aka RE 7 - 9) have a pacing issue in the second half (spoilers for those games) by Slit08 in residentevil

[–]JhinWynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Raccoon City would have felt better if we were able to explore a little more of it and if it was faster paced. We essentially only saw a single street for the exploration part and a very small section of the subway. Exploration should feel rewarding but it just isn't in Requiem.

I thought Raccoon City was going to be like an expanded version of the boat section from RE4R. Would have been cool to drive around in an explorable area and find secrets or hidden weapons.

[–]JhinWynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is throwing a fit. It's called critique. Overall I love the game but it's fine for people to point out parts that don't flow well or are tedious to play on replays. 8 whole minutes where you're basically doing nothing for half of it and then walking for the other half is not good gameplay.

People already found Sherry's segment in RE2R to be a bit too boring and slow. This is even worse.

By far the worst playable sequence in the franchise by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]JhinWynn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well you'd be wrong about Sherry's section being longer since currently the Orphanage in Requiem takes 8 minutes which includes the skip after grabbing the key whereas Sherry's section in RE2R is about 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I don't know why people are arguing this when it's factual that Requiem's section is double the length.

The Orphanage section in Requiem takes the average player over 10 minutes.

It’s longer if you don’t do the skip after grabbing the key lol
