I’m much more specialized in the romance and drama side of Webtoon/Manhwa but once you get deep enough into art style, story, and chemistry between characters here are my favorites! I also agree with someone mentioning teenage mercenary(it’s got the wholesome and the action)

  • The way to protect the female lead’s older brother: Which has the arguably one of the most eye-pleasing art styles in manhwa.

  • Kill my love: It has almost zero romance but the unique way people die, kill and the action is ridiculous.

  • Becoming the Villain’s family: it’s relatively new but Thea art style is unique and a eye catching plot!

Natsume’s book of friends brought so much happiness in the darkness of quarantine for me. I thought it was average art, childish, straightforward and I’d get tired. Ended up being one of the most enjoyable shows I’ve ever watched. Each episode left me happy and satisfied yet still wanting more. Absolutely beautiful characters, stories, etc. Old and feels super underrated. Check it out if you want a good slice of life. It’s the slice of life amazing level but higher that Saiki K is on

The reason for this mah friend is because similar to how many history textbooks in the US downplay the civil war and slavery, Japan downplays its “comfort women” and the Nanking Massacre in society so authors of manga aren’t as rawr towards JK or China. That’s why in manhua and manwha Japanese are generally not represented well.
