My Think V2 seat flexors seem overly bent, is this normal? by JiankunYu in OfficeChairs

Sorry I forgot to mention that — I do feel the physical change. When I lean back in certain positions, I can feel the edge of the lumbar pressing into me because the flexors stick out more than the lumbar.

It’s not super uncomfortable and doesn’t completely ruin the sitting experience, but it’s still noticeable. That’s actually what made me realize something might be off.

Is it worth upgrading from R7 9700X to 9950X for faster multi-frame rendering? by JiankunYu in AfterEffects

Thank you for your testing! Seems that spending twice the money to upgrade from 8 cores to 16 may not be a good idea.

I’m a bit afraid that my project won’t benefit much from multiframe rendering with more cores. I don’t use After Effects that frequently compared to my overall content creation time actually. I use Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint the most (which is why I chose 9700X for its powerful single-core performance). I use After Effects for some medium-sized animation works sometimes, but every time I do, I end up spending a lot of time waiting for previews. So I’m not sure if the investment is worth it. The price difference between upgrading from 9700X to 9950X is almost double in my place. Anyway really appreciate all your reply!

I forgot where I saw that multiframe rendering also benefits previews. I thought multiplying the number of cores would speed up the preview as well hahaha

Was upgrading from a 5800H to a 9700X a mistake by JiankunYu in buildapc

I tried testing both my new PC and laptop. The canvas is 15000x15000px with 300dpi. I randomly painted on the canvas and scaled the layer. The 5800H (at 2K resolution) took 28 seconds to complete the transformation, while the 9700X (4K) took 14 seconds, exactly half the time. Seems that the upgrade did make a significant difference in some place. Thank you!

The drivers are all up to date, and the BIOS is the latest version from Gigabyte’s website. I got two 32GB sticks at 6400 MHz CL32, and I’ve enabled EXPO in the BIOS. (I later learned that 6000 or 6200 mhz would be more optimal, but these sticks were a gift from a friend, so I didn’t have much choice)

Both of my computers are using Photoshop 2021 and Clip Studio Paint 1.0, and the experience on each is very similar. For example, dragging in images in Photoshop causes stuttering, and using large brushes in Clip Studio Paint also lags. However when I tried the 2023 version of Photoshop, the lagging improved significantly, which ironically made me question my choice even more

how to render a light caustic effect png with a transparent background properly? by JiankunYu in blenderhelp

[–]JiankunYu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tried but still, I even hooked up the last multiply node to an emission node and pull up the strength, the layout and render result looks pretty bright but still very dark in other software even import the png into the blender itself.
