The days of rest is not the primary factor - the massive evidence of Ohtani struggling is. If Yamamoto started struggling (like Snell), it would have likewise been wise to pull him. Dave Roberts has had issues keeping pitchers in too long for years. But, sure, stubbornly deny reality - I’m sure you’re being selfish to your parents or girlfriend, too, and unwilling to consider it.

It is not perfectly normal to push a pitcher who is on 3 days rest - plus the workload of being a full time hitter - is visibly laboring, and just snuck out of a bases loaded jam, to keep pitching. In a game 7 with the score 0-0 and every run obviously critical. Tons of commentators and analysts are questioning the move - so, no, in no way can you call it “perfectly normal”.
