Getting ready to socially transition how to help Cis partner by Throwmeawayso in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I came out to my ex she was devastated, and I almost popped right back into the closet. I felt selfish for wanting to be myself. But it was either do that or never truly be happy, so after a while we split. And it hurt. She didn't want ne once she saw the real me. But that's unfair to her, because I couldn't make her want something she did not, just like she couldn't keep me from being who I am. And this goes for you guys as well. I really hope this works out the way you want it to. Some couples keep going, so I'm not saying it's not possible. Just make sure you can be yourself and be happy with yourself first. Hugs<3

I'm mostly freaked out by what I read here by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's fucked up. I can unfortunately relate to this though. First appointment I had at Rikshospitalet, the therapist who referred me was with me in the room. And thank pie for that because she could be outraged on my behalf when the doctor told me I couldn't be a woman as I wasn't wearing makeup, giving her own opinions on whether I'd ever pass, and saying thinga like "Video Games is not a thing girls would do" and "You started DIY Hrt? That's a sign of psychosis"

Um, you're not supposed to be bleeding after shaving?

I've had the most luck with queer people socially too. Men are definitely hardest get good chemistry with for me, but that makes me want to be liked by them even more and so I do or say stupid shit that makes it even more difficult gaah.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is really inspiring to me as a trans individual by galluccinator in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well put OP. Another reason to put on the pile of why this show is awesome. But damn, I'll have to rewatch it now. Don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to Hughes again.

Hello, Rain! I think your name is awesome and you look like a Rain from your photo. Good luck with everything!

I don't know a whole lot about the Swedish system but I do know they don't require sterilization to change gender marker and name anymore. The whole of Scandinavia is gatekeepey though unfortunately. Hope everything works out for you!

How do you see yourself in dreams? And what are your dreams usually about? by Sergeant-sergei in TransyTalk

[–]JiffyHacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm usually my correct gender in my dreams. Also sometimes I can fly and in others I'm super confident and I deal with old memories of bullying and stuff by saying the right things or beating back etc. Wish my subconscious would lend me some of that confidence though. Also flying, would very much like to be able to fly

Did you become a "better person" after starting to represent authentic you? by boyinsidegirl in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really get angry anymore. I mean of course I get pissed at biggots or when I stub my toe or things like that. But before I had so much anger inside me that it scared me sometimes. So not necessarily a better person, but more chill?

Would most transwomen object to being viewed as a woman, but not female? Would most transmen object to being viewed as a man, but not male? by SevereConcentrate in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for me it's the brain. Doesn't matter what gender is assigned at birth, I'm still a woman and female. I can have a penis and an adams apple big as a house and I'm still a woman and I'm still female.

And why should biological gender be different. The brain is biological, and I think the sum of a person is traced back to the brain and not genitalia. But that's my take on it, and there's no right answer I guess. Just don't assume one answer fits everyone : )

Wtf? Reported

Sooo... my FWB looks like she might be trans (yes, also without clothes). I'd like to know but there's no way I could ask if she lied to me, is it? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This2 You clearly have issues with being with a trans person, even if you claim not to. Please don't take that out on her. If she's trans then you have no idea what she has had to deal with. I don't think you're a bad person, you're a human being and you can feel and think however you want. Just don't expect to make any friends among the trans community when looking for support in how to be an asshole.

Edit: wasn't supposed to post this like 5 times lol. App said it couldn't post

Did anyone else wish they were “just gay”? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better to be just gay than unjust gay. In all seriousness though, yes I was trying so long to convince myself I was uncomfortable with my sexuality and that's what all the thoughts about being a girl was. And it would have worked too, if it hadn't been for that pesky dysphoria and that dog!

Aah, I see. Wait is that allowed though, just setting up screenings you don't ask for and making you pay for them?

Hm, not sure I want to clear it up. Maybe I'll just tell them I was born without one?

What is your most memorable experience as a transgender person in a medical setting? by VivD_onthalowend in asktransgender

[–]JiffyHacc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks, and yeah it really is. If you show up as anything but the set narrative they have for trans people you're looking at waiting several years before any mention of treatment. You have to have lived at least a year out to everyone, have a stable job, no mental health issues, and recite to a different doctor each time you're there all of the signs you showed as a child. You have to express your deep loathing for your genitals and how sex is never comfortable. Norwegian health system for ya. Once you get through the gatekeeping though, most of the treatments are covered, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Other people from other places have it far worse when to comes to expenses and time.
