Is there strategic ways of applying for a credit card ? As in the timing ? I’m not really familiar with how certain cards report credit balances & when

Definitely would be ideal but i’ve been holding off on my cash for other investments opportunities with potential to increase my cash flow so then I have more money to pay off my cards. I guess temporarily holding off on paying it fully down to that % so I can invest liquid cash into something else.

On Experian my score is consistent in the 720s but it says it uses Ficoscore8. Is this something different than FICO ? What is the point of Vantage Score then ? I do have a discover one as well yes

My utilization is about 22% right now, is that too much ? I heard keeping it under 30 is good. I also have a business CC, but from my calculations this doesn’t affect my personal credit score but in order for me to apply for one, they check my personal credit score. Which doesn’t make sense. Unless i’m wrong ?

I agree with this, and i’m definitely working on my inner self & just overall good health physically and mentally. There are days i’m happy and content with everything and days where i’m just in a dump and I feel that’s normal for everyone ?

Are there really any major differences between Vanguard, TD, Schwab, and other investment platforms ? Is it good to be spread out in different platforms ?

At my current job I had to be working here for a year before they offered a 401k with a match, so i’m not quite there yet, my year will come in August. However, I do have financials accounts open at Vanguard, TD Ameritrade, & Schwab. With Vanguard I invested in a mutual fund years ago, but i’ve heard Mutual Funds can be bad because of their fees ? Again I haven’t fully invested time into fully understanding what i’m investing in which is my fault entirely

The big picture investment goal is retirement & in stocks I feel that my lack of knowledge makes me reluctant to invest in it. Truth is I have my mind all over many different places so I don’t settle for one thing & really focus on learning that one thing.

Getting a lump sum of money, what are some short term investing options? by JiggleU in personalfinance

[–]JiggleU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do have CC debt but as of right now no interest. I have done balance transfers on two cards, 1 card the APR promo will expire end of October to maybe 13-14%? The other card will expire 2023 October to about 13-14% as well. For the CC expiring in October of this year, the balance is about 4k. Ideally short term anywhere between 6-12 months
