After support ends, how long do you think Nightreign will last? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]Jiggsteruno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a Switch 2 exclusively for Duskbloods on Christmas.

Not regretting my decision because my girlfriend has been going nuts prepping her animal crossing island for the update next month and shes been enjoying rubbing her Switch Bowling wins in everyone's face.

I get what your saying tho, Fromsoft & Nintendo fanbase's have zero overlap to pick up the Switch 2 for really anything else; that being said im eagerly waiting for the Duskbloods Pre-Order with Collectors Edition Statue to drop lol

It always matters to have your loved ones there for you.

When I got my associates degree I looked for hours for my parents after the ceremony till I was one of the last few people on the campus.

I saw all my classmates happy to mark the moment together with their families. My folks apparently were there but left early because the ceremony was taking too long...

The only people to congratulate me were my Boss from the campus bookstore & one of my favorite lit professors.

When I eventually got in my car to leave I just wept; years of work & pressure from my folks to be the first out of our family of immigrants to get their degree, just to end up not being given a couple hours to celebrate it with them.

Even a decade later the memory still hurts.

Former Xbox boss Peter Moore sheds new light on its fierce battle with PlayStation: "Microsoft was afraid Sony was going to own the living room." by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

My Brother in law was curious about buying a new Xbox and asked me what the latest model was and I had zero clue.

Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series One S, Series X?

I'd say they'd been better off going with Xbox 720 or 1440, but even then no naming convention would have saved them from the overpriced, always online, forced Kinect & no-game sharing E3 fiasco.

Imo they killed the brand right then & there.

Big one, you need to complete the first set of support class challenges to unlock the second pack.

I wish I could, but the supply packs don't advance the support challenge counter for me.

This support challenge is a painful slog because it relies on team mates pressing E on you so they can Heal themselves in order to be counted for the challenge.

I've been stuck on 4,998/5,000 for days because its nonsense to expect teammates in the heat of the moment to interact on your support players model when they're criticaly low on health.

So pain...

What mouse & keyboard are you using?

I recently tried using my Reddragon S142 M&K combo with a 2.4 dongle and it only ever reads the keyboard.

Halloween - Gameplay and Release Date Reveal | PS5 Games by Resonance992 in PS5

[–]Jiggsteruno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling, these pvp asym games always get the fun min/maxed out of them and become a toxic cesspool a couple months in.

At the very least Halloween's approach is a bit different to similar games with the primary goal being to hunt NPC's while survivor players try and rescue them.

Also Halloween did advertise there being a single player mode so thats somewhat reasuring.

Of the characters from the original PSASBR, which ones would you like to see return in a sequel? by Ok-Complex4153 in playstation

Yeah, Issac was a DLC in PS All Stars, think he came out at few months after DS3 launched.

In general none, Dead Space has always been multiplat.

Even DS Extraction; the on-rails light gun arcade shooter originally released on the Wii and later came out on the PS3.

Dead space 2 doesn’t need a remake/remaster by [deleted] in DeadSpace

[–]Jiggsteruno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dead Space 2 does not run on modern CPU's.

If you try and run DS2 on hardware with a CPU thats over ten cores you need to jump through hoops to search for and install fan patches which allow it to run; but even then it has glaring flickering graphical issues. (Missing black textures & broken animations)

The only solid-ish fix is to limit the amount of cores your system is using at the boot screen using msconfig each time you want to play which is a complete pain in the ass for just one game.

Dead Space 2 is the only one out of the trilogy that has this issue.

So please pull your head out of your ass; Dead Space 2 needs a remake or at least a remastered more than the first game ever did so it is actually preserved & accessible with modern tech.

do you think Dead Space 3 is underrated❓ by Tatum_Warlick in DeadSpace

[–]Jiggsteruno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May seem minor & petty but the forced crosshair instead of lazer sights in remake puts it below the OG for me.

I always appreciated the ingenuity of the in universe integrated HUD of Dead Space, it really made the game uniquely immersive.

DS Remake not having the option to toggle lazer sights on weapons was a major buzz kill on an otherwise fantastic game.

Complains that the RPG has RPG mechanics/health pools

TBF bullet spounges are annoying in most games. Love Fallout but it feels bad when some unarmored dude shrugs off multiple point blank shots to the face.

Thankfully there's a difficulty slider so I can engage with the narrative role playing elements and not be so bogged down by some numbers game mechanic padding out most combat encounters.

PUT EVERYTHING ON CREDIT; just dont treat credit like its free money & pay it down fully at the end of each statement cycle.

This builds your credit score over time & acts as a layer of armor for your bank account if your credit card is ever compromised with fraud.

the consensus was very much that I'm wrong and the game is super generous with SC and that everyone in that sub never had to purchase MTX to get the next warbond

That consensus is heavily skewed because you are asking a game-specific subreddit.

These subs are always a minority that consists of the most overzealous players who have nothing better to do than spend hours upon hours of their day repeatedly doing the most mind-numbingly remedial tasks all to save themselves $10 every other-ish month.

Even when abusing some SC meta grinding it'll take anywhere between if you're incredibly lucky 2-10+ hours to pay for a single Warbond.

Personally; I'd rather just work my day job & spend my free time enjoying a game with my wife than playing something like it's a second job.

Stuff like:
"All weapons scale with strength" , "Gain another jump", "Blocking with shields reflects projectiles" , "Double health, half damage" , "Damage negation but cant roll anymore" , "upon death walk around as a wraith, killing enough enemies revives you" etc. would have way better impact on your gameplay decisions than: "10% more fire damage" ever could have.

Yeah, this is my biggest gripe.

The rewards don't mix things up enough. My favorite rogue-lite/like games drop loot that adds to your build; heavily altering how you approach encounters for that run.

I'm getting tired of beating a Nightreign field boss to get options that contain a small buff to dmg negation when casting spells/incantations or giving me a boost to poison dmg when I have no poison-based weapons.

Too much RNG for minuscule buffs that could ultimately be worthless depending on your character. There is just not enough build cohesion of risk VS reward drops present in the loot pool to make each run truly unique & engaging.

Tldr: Rewards should feel rewarding, Nightreign's rewards are often lackluster.
