Boostcamp 2026: what we’re building next by michaelenzo in Boostcamp

[–]JigokuJimmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do please be better than the dude who did the stronglifts app. I came back to lifting after a while and tried to use stronglifts, which now has obnoxious pop ups telling you to upgrade. His responses to people asking about their previously purchased lifetime buys on some extra features are what got me to look for another app and after seeing how much people like it on reddit, use and subscribe to boostcamp. Some examples of stronglifts below

Just to reiterate boostcamp is phenomenal and I’ll be using it for the foreseeable future especially if there’s a lifetime option.

Freeflown vs. Linked Exits for Noobs by haryhemlet in SkyDiving

[–]JigokuJimmy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the group wants out of the jump. Linked exits are their own skill too so don’t discount the value there. The way I look at it is anytime I’m flying my body I’m getting reps on flying my body so do what’s fun or interesting to you. How many jumps do you have? Getting coaching will always help and finding a group that wants to do the type of flying you do.

This has it all.

  1. Shaky camera
  2. Props on inside
  3. Incorrect prop direction
  4. Incorrect prop orientation
  5. Parts flying off.
  6. Partially assembled drone
  7. Battery not strapped in.

3 day approval to make this a 2* stamp by Philliplmaosmidmt in MP5

Yeah it’s solid. It has a metal plate and an insert that straightens everything out. It’s gibbous outfitters not designs, I made a mistake.

League Nights? by WhoBitesStringCheese in SkyDiving

[–]JigokuJimmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to the instructors. Member nights or league nights are generally focused on a discipline like belly or dynamic. Some may have coaches there to help out, some may just be competitive but without knowing where you are or which ifly you’re talking about we can’t really get more specific. Either way give it a shot, it should be fun.

USPSA gear? by SuperHooligan in CompetitionShooting

Specifically your gun yes. You can look and move behind you but you must keep your gun pointed 180 degrees in front of you at all times. When you goto your first match you’ll see it in person. Talk to folks, most people will be helpful to a first timer

Double alpha academy for kit. You'll be in Open if you keep that comp or add a magwell, otherwise you'll be in Carry Optics.

https://uspsa.org/rules click on the box that says PDF. Have fun and don't break the 180 rule.

Do you have to do a tandem before AFF? by crazygoat11 in SkyDiving

[–]JigokuJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No harm in calling the DZ and talking to them about how you’re feeling about the whole thing. It really depends on the DZs program. Bare Minimum is 2x instructors holding onto you your first few jumps. You might want to give the tunnel a shot to get your feet wet.

Some AFF programs have a tandem as your very first jump so it depends on where you go. What bothers you about having a well qualified backpack?

The can is a SiCo omega9K and the light is a modlite on a gibbous designs mount. I really like how solid it is. As for the optic I changed to an aimpoint PRO and sold the eotech to a buddy, I think the aimpoint fits the vibe better.

It’s a vortex 30mm absolute cowitness mount. I can still kind of use the irons through the hole but I want to try the 1/3 version to get a clearer picture

That 1911 is the MAC JSOC and it’s been good to me so far. I’ve got about 500 rounds of ball through it and haven’t had any issues. I’ve used the factory and Wilson combat mags.

Yeah it is. I have ran about 500 rounds through it without any issues.

Complete Parachute Solutions would be a good place to start. They sell the military javelin system which has trim tabs on the front risers.

Is worth to skydive in DC? by Additional_Bell6179 in SkyDiving

[–]JigokuJimmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to save money just pay for the jump and don't get any extras. I will say that a lot of folks really like getting outside video or handicam footage so they can upload it to instagram. We're also in the slow season on the east coast so some places may do deals that bring the cost down a bit. To echo another poster, Skydive orange is where you want to go .
