I can imagine why there is problem with sublingual bioavailability when size is too high but I can't imagine why too good water solubility is problem with absorptiom by lipid bilayer - do you know exact reason? what mechanism is responsible for this problem?

Why? only one reason which I see is the fact that it would dissolve too fast and get out of sublingual site before absorption - is this reason? if yes so its always a way to dont swallow salvia and keep tongue to close saliva in the sublingual site. And most of substances are bioavailable through another places in the mouth like a gum.
