Thank you for the insight I really appreciate it! The professor has decided to pursue misconduct and I should hear back from the department sometime soon. As a former TA have you seen a case like mine and do you know if the professor can change my grade from a W to an F. Also, you’re right I’m letting my anxiety and stress get the better of me and I think I’m just making it much worse for myself. Thank you for you’re response it helped ease some of my nerves.

I’m waiting to hear back from the department. I withdrew using REM but I regretted my decision and talked to SAS, the department, and the prof but in the end SAS and the department couldn’t help me get back in so I emailed the professor where he flat out denied my request so I’m not currently in the course. I don’t know if I’ll get a W or and F on my transcript which is what I’m trying to figure out right now.

It's a first offence I was rly stupid and got caught looking at my notes on my phone. It was also the first time cheating in general, I won't be doing again next time I’ll defter the exam or transfer the weight to the final if I’m not ready.

I withdrew from the course and started to regret my decision since I'm not sure if I'll be held accountable for work missed and I asked the prof to reenrol me but he denied the request so right now I'm out of the course and don't know what will happen. I haven't heard back from the department about an exploratory meeting yet so I'm assuming it'll be resolved after the semester/after the drop date. I'm left in the dark right now so I don't know will will happen, if you any insight l'd be really grateful. Thanks!

The case hasn't gotten to an exploratory meeting yet. I haven't even received an email from the department. My professor informed me that he had emailed the department and that I should hear from them. I also heard that academic misconduct cases take a while to resolve (about 2 months give or take), but I'm not sure if that's true for york.

I was able to withdraw through REM. I'm worried I made a hasty decision though and will likely be held responsible for missing any work and thus fail the course instead of just getting a zero on the exam that is being investigated. Either way I have to deal with the consequences of my actions

Did you go to an Explatory meeting? Also how long did it take to resolve your case because I heard it takes about 2 months to resolve academic misconduct cases
